1 There are more than 20,000 radio stations in the world. _______

3 More people stream music on the internet than listen to the radio. ______
4 Internet radios are quite cheap these days. _______
5 It’s easy to use an internet radio in the car. _______
Do We Still Need Radios?
These days, of course, you can get music, video, news and even radio on the internet. We live in the age of
the internet! It’s very strange, but most people still listen to old-fashioned radios. Here are a few reasons
why…
The internet offers a big number of radio stations – about 20,000 from around the world today – and more and
more people are using internet radio. But still, it isn’t the most popular internet activity: only 36% of people use
the internet for listening to the radio each week, while over 60% of people use it for streaming music or
watching videos.
One of the reasons is the technology. Internet radios are much more expensive than normal radios. They also
need a very good, strong internet connection to work well. So, traditional radios are easier to get in cars,
workplaces and in many bedrooms.
