Kickstarter Wave One Unboxing Guide

This document breaks down the Agent Pledge, as that’s what most people are receiving. This contains all of
the following, each of which will be broken down and detailed later:
• Hellboy: The Board Game Core Set
• The Conqueror Worm expansion
• B.P.R.D. Archives expansion
• “Kickstarter Extras” bundle
Everything listed here should is contained in the large Kickstarter
edition box. You can use the Components spread (pages 4 and 5 of
the Rules book) to help you identify what the individual pieces are –
this guide just tells you what goes in each set.
Note that, as per this update on the Kickstarter itself, the poker-sized
and mini-sized cards got shuffled around at the printers - this means
that they’re in the wrong order when you first unwrap them. Sorting
them by type and set (using the icon guide to the right) only takes
about ten minutes, in my experience!

WHERE TO BEGIN?
There’s a lot of stuff in this box! We recommend starting by separating out everything into its sets, then
playing through the Core Game (starting with the Tutorial). Then incorporate the Conqueror Worm expansion,
then B.P.R.D. Archives, then the rest. We’ve made a video to explain this in detail.

UPGRADED COMPONENTS
Thanks to a number of Stretch Goals during the
Kickstarter campaign, several components in the
Kickstarter edition of the game have been upgraded
from card to plastic.
As the rulebook is the same for both the retail and
Kickstarter editions, the Components section on pages 4
and 5 of the Rules shows illustrations of the card
versions of these components.
The image to the right can be used as a guide to identify
which components are which.
HELLBOY: THE BOARD GAME CORE SET
This is mostly the contents of the Core Game box, which will be sold in retail – with the exception that some
card components have been replaced with plastic upgrades, as described on the previous page. It also includes
extra dice, Frog Monsters and Frog Swarms.
