A big birthday!
1 Read the email. Whose birthday are they planing to celebrate?
• Sam's • Naomi's
• Sam's auntie's • Naomi's grandma's

From: Naomi
To: Sam

Hi Sam

Thanks for your email. I’m glad that you’re enjoying your holiday
in Miami and that your auntie’s birthday was fun.
My grandma will be 70 in September and we’re going to
organize a surprise birthday party for her. She thinks that we’re
going to have a small celebration with just our family and a few
close friends, but in fact we’re planning something really special!
The biggest surprise for Grandma is that we’re going to invite
her sister Grace to come to the party all the way from Australia!
She left the UK and went to live there 25 years ago and they sometimes chat online. If
she comes to the party, it will be their first meeting for 25 years! We’re also going to invite
some of Grandma’s old school friends to the party. These are friends that she last saw
over 50 years ago!
We’re going to book the village hall and hire a Scottish ceilidh band.
Grandma loves dancing and a ceilidh will be the best way to make sure
everyone enjoys themselves at the party.
We’re going to ask each of the guests to bring something to eat so we
won’t have to order any food ourselves. I think there will probably be
about 50 people at the party so I’m sure we'll have a lot of fun.
