We welcome you to the first edition of the spelling bee

contest of the year 2023, thank you all for being here, but
mainly to the semi-finalists who today will compete
representing each of their courses. In the same way, we
thank our judges who will help us in the task of evaluating
our competitors and choosing the best of them in each of the
categories.

 WHY DO WE CELEBRATE THE SPELLING BEE CONTEST?

Spelling bees provide students who have an interest in

language to enjoy the same opportunity to compete, perform
and experience those valuable life lessons on their own terms.
Aside from personal life skills, spelling bee participants also
gain incredible language-based knowledge and literacy skills.
In fact studying for a spelling bee doesn’t just entail
memorization of words, but actually involves a lot more
learning than most people imagine, since students not only
increase their vocabulary but also develop cognitive abilities
and learning strategies.
