POEM ANALYSIS: “For Every Woman..

Poem #2 makes women seem like they are in a tough spot because it shows them

in old-fashioned roles and ideas. It makes them look like they have to be quiet, not very

smart, and just here for men's pleasure. This makes it seem like women have to follow

rules that don't let them be themselves.

Poem #1 makes it seem like men have a hard time because they can't show their

feelings or be themselves. It says that they have to always be strong, know everything,

and be ready for sex all the time, which can be really tough and limit them. This makes it

seem like men can't be themselves unless they act tough all the time.

Bonino et al. want to say that both men and women have to deal with rules and

expectations from society that can be bad for their freedom and happiness. They want to

show that we need to change the old ideas about how men and women should act to

make things better for everyone.

4. Poem #1 is better at challenging how men and women should act because it talks

about how both face problems from society's rules. It says that when women break free

from old ways, men can also find new ways to be themselves. This idea is about making

things equal and changing the old ideas about how men and women should be.

5. To improve Nancy Smith's poem, we can change Poem #2 to have a more fair

view. Instead of showing old ideas about how men and women should be, the poem can
talk about how they should respect each other, understand each other, and support each

other. It can say that we should break free from the rules that limit everyone and make

sure everyone has the same rights and chances. This way, the poem can be more open

and modern about gender issues.
