I take great pleasure in recommending Mr. Avi Vyas for the Master’s program at Electrical Engineering department of TU Delft. I personally know Mr. Avi Vyas since his joining as scientist in my division at the Space Applications Center, Ahmedabad (in Sep. 2012). Since then I have been his reporting officer and currently the Head of the division. As reporting officer, I have always found him quite disciplined, responsible and devoted to his duties and as senior colleague, I have found him quite competent, trustworthy and innovative and at the same time result oriented as well. During this period, together we have successfully worked on many projects as well as research and development activities as a team. He is an excellent designer and holds the position of Project Manager for many ongoing projects. Since his joining, he has designed many miniaturized and highly efficient medium as well as low power EPCs (Electronic Power Conditioners). He has also developed, for the first time at our division, a single power converter to meet the electrical and specific demands of an entire regenerative payload chain, thereby, reducing the number of EPCs drastically while mi ing good efficiency and saving significant mass and size as well. In particular, I would like to mention his notable contributions in the research in the field of digitally controlled de-de converters to cater to the various space missions. Post the successful completion and demonstration of the activity, he has initiated the development of its first ever application in the approach of single EPC for a chain of payload in communication satellite projects. He is also engaged in the development of ASIC based controller for further reduction in size. Looking to his sharp acumen, hard work and a keen sense of pursuing further research work in the field of digital control of power systems, I might add that, given an opportunity, Mr. ‘Avi shall definitely make prolific contributions towards the concept’s applications. He is a charming yet tacitur personality who is benign towards his sub-ordinates and deferential towards his seniors. On a personal note, he also possesses a subtle sense of humor and a good taste in music as well as English and Hindi literature. I am sure that you would find Avi as a suitable candidate for the Master’s program in Electrical Engineering at TU Delft. Hence, I strongly recommend Avi's candidature for the Master’s program in Electrical Engineering at ‘your reputed university.
