Performance Task (Problem Solving)

Important Reminders:
1. Use short bond paper only. Do not use the back pages for solving. Write your name
and section at the back of the last paper. Deduction of 10 points for non-compliance.
2. Submit your work in a short folder (of any color) with fastener. Deduction of 10
points for non-compliance.
3. Deadline of submission: June 16, 2023. Deduction of 15 points every day of late
submission.
4. Please read the scoring rubrics for your guidance.

Solve the following problems. If there is no possible answer state your reason why.
1. What is the current when a 0.2 C of charge passes through a wire in 4 seconds?
2. The resistivity of copper is 1.77 ×10 −8 Ω𝑚. Find the resistance of a 10 m copper wire
having a cross sectional area of 0.000007 m2.
3. A current of 0.75A flows through a light bulb for 1h. How many electrons pass through
the lightbulb in this time?
4. A wire has diameter of 1.0mm and a length of 30m, and is found to have a resistance of
1.2Ω. What is the resistivity of the wire?
5. The three resistors in Figure A all have the same resistance. When the switch is closed,
(a) by what factor does the current in resistor 1 change? (b) By what factor does the
potential difference across resistor 2 change? (c) by what factor does the current in
resistor 2 change?
