    Hardware and software

    A computer is a device that can follow a set of instructions to carry out sequences
    of arithmetical and logical operations.

    Hardware
    Computer hardware consists of the physical parts of a computer system,the parts you
    can touch. These include:
    the case,motherboard,graphics card,sound card,ROM and RAM.

    Software
    Software controls the operations or processing of electronic data.

    Compilers
    They convert the program written by a human in a high level language into code that
    a microprocessor can understand-a series of ones and zeros(1s & 0s)

    Linkers
    They take one or more files produced by the compiler and combines them into a
    program that the microprocessor can execute.

    Device drivers
    They allow the processor to communicate with devices such as keyboard, mouse,
    monitor,and printer.

    Input and Output devices


    Input devices are used to enter data into a computer.The processor processes the
    data given by the input device.
    There are two different categories of input device.
    They are:Manual input device which people use to enter data into a computer
    themselves
