This source was created by Encyclopedia.com. The specific author is not listed, but I feel that
this is credible because many of the facts make sense, and they’re confirmed to be true
as well. Many other credible sources I checked said the same things this article did. The
focus of this article is to teach the reader(s) about the history and significance of movies
and Hollywood during (mostly) the 1930s. The reason why movies were so popular back
then is because they provided a distraction, a refuge from the struggles of the Great
and the impact on American culture. This would likely be valuable to any film historian, or

2016, www.ranker.com/list/classic-old-hollywood-studio-system-abuses/anncasano.
This source was created by Ann Casano. I checked her profile, and she has a Master of
Arts Degree in Cinema Studies. I think that she knows what she's talking about, and some
of the things that are listed make sense. This article describes the different types of abuse
that many actors and actresses endured during this time period. The purpose of this
article is to highlight the flaws and failures of Old Hollywood, so that the audience may
recognize the suffering so many people endured. It describes how studios considered
their stars to be equivalent to their property. Judy Garland was forced to have abortions,
take on a dangerous diet, and even get hooked on drugs. The love lives of these people
were also controlled, and they couldn’t refuse any roles given to them. Even sick days
could deduct their paycheck. Anyone who is interested in knowing about that would read
www.biography.com/actor/marilyn-monroe.
This article was written by Biography.com. The author is not listed specifically, but I
believe it’s trustworthy because I checked a lot of other websites and they had the same
facts as this article did. The focus of this article is to teach the audience about the life of
Marilyn Monroe. This article talks about her life, her story, and how she rose to fame. It
also talks about her mental health struggles, how she became a very popular fashion icon
and sex symbol, and the different injustices she had to face. A lot of people assumed that
she was a “blonde bombshell”, or a dumb blonde who was intelligent and ditzy based on
the roles she was given. However, that wasn’t true as the studios she worked for only
wanted her to have certain roles, and that influenced her public perception.
This source would be invaluable to anyone who’s interested in knowing more about the
story of Marilyn Monroe, or maybe a film historian, a writer, or a student or anyone like
that.
