Review: Before we proceed to our new lesson, let’s see if you remember your past lessons about electrical signs.
Review Activity: (The teacher will be grouping the class into five groups. Each group will need to draw on the board the electrical
sign that they pick from the jar).
1.Caution 2. Safety alert 3. Danger 4. Warning 5. Prohibition

Guide Questions:
1. Are you familiar with those pictures? How?
2. What is workplace?
3. Why do you think that a workplace should put that kind of signage?
4. Why do you think it is important that we should aware to the signs that we can see in our workplace?

Opening Activities- Introduction to the New Lesson

(The teacher will introduce a motivational activity in introducing the lesson of the day).
Integration (English) Cause and Effect Relationship
Ex: Many trees fell and blocked the roads in Silang, Cavite due to the typhoon Paeng.

Guide Questions:
1. What is the cause in the situation?
2. How did you identify that it is the cause?
3. What is the effect?
4. How did you identify that it is the effect?

Using the same group, the teacher will introduce the motivational activity in introducing the lesson of the day.
Activity No:1 Cause and Effect Relationship (5mins)
Match the pictures (causes) on column A to its corresponding pictures (effects) on Column B.

COLUMN A COLUMN B
1. Octopus wiring A. unhealthy lungs

2. mosquito B. Sleeping Disorder

3. Paint Fumes C. Muscle pain

4. Carrying heavy loads D. create too much heat and start a fire,

5. Night shift at work E. bites, skin allergies

Processing Questions:
1. What did you observe in the pictures of our activity?
2. Are there things or situations that may cause harm to our life, health and property?
3. How will you connect this activity to our lesson today?
Introduction to the Learning Competencies and Learning Objectives
Most Essential Learning Competency: Identify Hazards and Risks
Learning Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
1. Identify the difference between hazard and risks;
2. Perform activities that help learners to differentiate the types of hazards in the workplace
3. Value the importance of having an awareness on a safe and healthy workplace.
B. Development The teacher will be dividing the class into five groups. The teacher will give a task envelop that contain their task, rubrics,
pictures and letters for the clue. The student is asked to identify the five basic workplace hazards.
Activity 2: Title: Decode Me!
Each group will be given an incomplete letter on the word of the five basic workplace hazards (chemical, physical, ergonomic,
biological, and psychological). First, they are going to solve the mathematical equation on the space of the missing letter.
Second, after getting their answer, they will decode their answer to its corresponding letter (Code: A = 8 E= 6 I = 4 O = 2 H
= 1 Y = 0) to complete the word. A representative will be asked to explain how they come up with their answer. (Time Allotment
5 to 7 minutes)
Group 1:

Discussion of the Lesson

(Hazard, risk and the different types of hazards in a workplace) (10 mins.)
Guide Questions:
1. What is hazard? What is risk?
2. How do hazard differ from risk?
3. How can you identify the hazard in the workplace?
4. What are the different types of hazards in a workplace?
5. How do they differ from one another?
6. Why do we need to learn the different types of hazards?
C. Engagement Based on what you learned from our discussion, perform the following task below.
(Groupings this time depend on the learners chosen activity to present.)
Time Allotment: (10 minutes)
1. 5 minutes – Conceptualization and Practice
2. 5 minutes – Presentation

Activity 3:
Group Tasks: Differentiated Activities
(The teacher will give a task envelop, inside it tasks card, rubrics, materials, and list of members. In this activity, students should
identify different types of hazards and risks in the workplace and incorporate ways to stay safe.)
Group 1 Group 2 Group 3

Group 4 Group 5

Different Tasks are the following:

1. We are Singers – make a jingle about Ergonomic Workplace Hazard
2. We are Slogan Makers – create a slogan about Biological Workplace Hazard
3. We are Poster Makers – create a poster about Physical Workplace Hazard.
4. We are Poets – make a poem with 3 stanzas with 4 lines about Chemical Hazard.
5. We are an Actors and Actresses – make a role playing about Psychological Workplace Hazard.

The group performance will be rated by the other group. Student’s presentation of the task will be guided by the rubric below.
