6. Lunar Distribution Network (LDN) is a large distribution company having distributorship of some
leading companies. Its relationship with one of its major clients Solar Limited (SL) turned sour, when
SL appointed another distributor in LDN’s territory. SL has now written a letter in which it has quoted
the following reasons for dissatisfaction with LDN: (i) LDN failsto cover its assigned territory as it does
not maintain sufficientstock level of SL’s products. (ii) Customer deliveries are often incomplete or
inaccurate. (iii) LDN deducts salary of salesmen on account of charges such as late coming, violation of
dress code, leaves, etc. Such deductions demoralise them which in turn affects SL’s sales. (iv)
Promotional scheme discounts dedicated for retailers are usurped as two superstores
havecomplained that LDN had not passed on the scheme discount to them. As Chief Executive Officer
of LDN, write a letter to Shams Aftab, your counterpart at SL, defying the claims made by SL. Assume
that your name is Chand Mehtab and your office is situated at Hilal Street, Korangi Industrial Area,
Karachi whereas corporate office of SL is situated at Raiwind Road Lahore. You may make further
necessary assumptions to strengthen your response.

Dear Shams Aftab,

I am writing to you regarding the recent letter you sent regarding Solar Limited's (SL)
dissatisfaction with Lunar Distribution Network (LDN). I understand that your company has
recently appointed another distributor in our territory, and I would like to address the
reasons cited for this decision.

Firstly, I would like to assure you that LDN takes its territorial coverage very seriously and we
maintain adequate stock levels of SL's products at all times. However, in the event that stock
levels run low, we work quickly to replenish them to ensure continuity of service.

In regard to customer deliveries, I would like to assure you that we have strict protocols in
place to ensure that all deliveries are accurate and complete. We have systems in place to
track and trace our deliveries and in the rare event of an error, we take immediate action to
rectify it.

I would like to assure you that LDN does not deduct the salaries of our salesmen for petty
reasons, such as late coming or dress code violations. Deductions, if any, are made only for
serious infractions and after proper investigation and necessary approvals. These deductions
are not intended to demoralize our salesmen but to maintain necessary discipline and work
ethic.

Regarding the promotional scheme discounts, I would like to inform you that we have strict
protocols in place to ensure that all retailers receive the discounts they are entitled to. We
have investigated the complaints made by the two superstores and found that it was an
oversight on the part of our staff which has been rectified.

I understand that SL is a valued client of LDN and we would like to continue our relationship
with your company. We take the concerns raised by your company very seriously and have
taken necessary steps to rectify the issues. We are committed to providing the best service
to our clients and I assure you that we will take any additional measures that may be
necessary to ensure your satisfaction.

Sincerely,
Chand Mehtab

7. The government of Goodland is planning a mass vaccination drive to prevent its citizens from COVID-
19. Vaccination centres have been formed in 153 hospitals across Goodland besides 15 mega centres
that would work 24 hours a day. Total population of Goodland is 7 million. The health department has
been assigned the task to prepare vaccination plan for citizens of different age groups and develop
standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the vaccination centres to ensure hassle free services
without compromising safety and well-being of its citizens. Assume that you are the secretary of
health department and your name is Saeed Mehmood.Write a letter to Firdous Jamal, Managing
Director Goodland Medical Association (GMA) detailing the vaccination plan and SOPs (up to four
procedures) that should be followed at vaccination centres. You may assume further necessary
details. Secretary’s office is situated at 13 Quaid Avenue, Goodland while GMA’s office is located at 19
Medical Avenue, Goodland.

Dear Mr. Jamal,

I am writing to you as the Secretary of the Health Department of Goodland, in regards to the
upcoming mass vaccination drive for the prevention of COVID-19. As you are aware,
vaccination centres have been set up in 153 hospitals across Goodland, as well as 15 mega
centres that will operate 24 hours a day.

In order to ensure that the vaccination process is carried out efficiently and effectively, while
also maintaining the safety and well-being of our citizens, we have developed a vaccination
plan and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the vaccination centres.

Prioritization of citizens: The vaccination plan has prioritized certain age groups and citizens
with underlying health conditions to receive the vaccine first. This will be done on a rolling
basis as more vaccines become available.

Appointments: Citizens will be required to make appointments for their vaccinations, in

order to avoid overcrowding at the centres and to ensure a smooth flow of operations.

Screening: Prior to receiving the vaccine, citizens will be screened for any contraindications
or potential adverse reactions.
Follow-up: After receiving the vaccine, citizens will be required to remain at the vaccination
centre for a certain period of time for observation, and will be provided with information on
any potential side effects or necessary follow-up.

We would appreciate your cooperation in disseminating this information to all GMA

members, and in ensuring that the SOPs are strictly followed at all vaccination centres. If you
have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Saeed Mehmood

8. Venus Satellite Network (VSN) has rights to broadcast the matches of Football Super League (FSL)
which is a premium tournament of the region. The league is underway; however, the management of
FSL has received a notice from VSN stating that VSN would not broadcast FSL’s matches after three
days without assigning any specific reason. Despite immediate telephonic contact and attempts to
resolve the issue, VSN remains rigid on its stance. Assume that your name is Sultan Zaid and you are
Project Manager of FSL responsible for managing broadcasting contracts. Write a letter to Javed
Ansari, Chief Operating Officer of VSN, expressing displeasure of FSL on VSN’s action and the course
of action FSL might take in case VSN does not resume the broadcasting. FSL’s office is situated at Level
1, Burj Jannah, Sharjah, UAE while VSN’s office is situated at Communication Street, Dubai Sports City,
UAE. You may use your imagination and make further relevant assumptions to strengthen your
arguments.

Mr. Javed Ansari,

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and displeasure at the recent notice

received by the Football Super League (FSL) regarding the discontinuation of the
broadcasting of our matches by Venus Satellite Network (VSN) in just three days' time,
without any specific reason provided.

As the Project Manager of FSL, I want to assure you that we have made every effort to
contact VSN and resolve this issue, however, to no avail. The FSL is a premium tournament in
the region and VSN's coverage is an important aspect of our success. We rely on the support
of our broadcast partners to reach our fan base and showcase the talents of our players to a
wider audience.

I would like to remind you that the broadcasting rights of FSL were legally acquired by VSN
and the discontinuation of coverage would be a breach of contract. Furthermore, this would
also damage the reputation of FSL as well as VSN in the sports broadcasting industry.

In the case that VSN does not resume the broadcasting of FSL matches, we will have no
choice but to take legal action to protect the interests of our league and the fans who have
supported us throughout the years. We hope that VSN will take immediate action to rectify
this situation, and we look forward to a resolution that is beneficial for both our
organizations.

Please let us know if there is any specific issues we could help solve to avoid this situation.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
Sultan Zaid
Project Manager, Football Super League
Level 1, Burj Jannah, Sharjah, UAE.
9. A massive fire in B-town’s Cloth Market has reduced almost 100 shops to ashes. The market’s traders
said that 90% of the shops and warehouses were destroyed and a loss worth Rs. 5-10 billion has been
incurred. The owners of the shops are trying to remove leftover stock from the market. Talking to the
news media, some traders alleged that chemical was used to set the market onfire as there was some
dispute between the builder and shop owners. B-Town Commissioner and law enforcement agencies’
personnel visited the site and ordered investigation of the situation. Government is facing strong
resistance from victims of the incident. As the spokesperson of Commissioner House, the
Commissioner has asked you to write a letterto the editor of “Dawn” and “The News” to clarify the
situation and also inform the public regarding the ongoing investigation. You may assume any details
to make the case persuasive. Assume your name as Ridwan Bari.

Dear Editor,

I am writing on behalf of B-Town Commissioner's office to address the recent fire that took
place in the Cloth Market, resulting in the destruction of nearly 100 shops and warehouses.
The estimated loss is in the range of Rs. 5-10 billion, and our hearts go out to the affected
shop owners and traders.

I want to assure the public that a thorough investigation is currently underway to determine
the cause of the fire. Initial reports from some of the traders suggest that chemicals may
have been used to set the market ablaze, possibly as a result of a dispute between the
builder and shop owners. However, it is important to note that these allegations have not
been confirmed and are still being examined as part of the investigation.

Our team of fire experts, along with law enforcement agencies are on the ground, collecting
evidence, taking statements and conducting all necessary investigation. We have also
arranged for a compensation and rehabilitation package for the affected trader and business
owners in this disaster.

I would like to assure the public that no stone will be left unturned in our quest to uncover
the truth and bring those responsible to justice. We understand the gravity of this incident
and the impact it has had on the community. We are committed to providing regular
updates on the investigation as they become available and working with the affected parties
to provide support and assistance in any way possible.

We understand the public concerns and plea for a fair and impartial investigation in this
incident.

Sincerely,
Ridwan Bari
Spokesperson for B-Town Commissioner's office.
10. Rehmatabad is a metropolitan city and economic hub of the country. During recent monsoon season,
it has received multiple spells of heavy rain that collapsed its drainage system. The electronics market
of Rehmatabad has been badly affected as rain and drain water has entered into the basement and
ground floor of the market damaging goods worth billions of rupees. Except few traders, none of the
traders had insurance of their goods. It has been decided in the recent meeting of Rehmatabad
Electronic Market Association (REMA) to approach the city government and convince it for
compensation of their losses. Write a letter on behalf of Rizwan Alvi, President of REMA, to Asal Khan,
the Mayor of Rehmatabad city explaining the detail of losses caused due to collapse of city’s drainage
system and why the city government should compensate it. Also suggest possible solution(s) in order
to avoid recurrence of similarsituation in future. You may assume necessary details. Office of REMA is
situated at 01 Circuit Plaza, Electronics Street, Rehmatabad while the Mayor’s office is at 42
Municipality Tower, Workaround Road, Rehmatabad.

Dear Mayor Khan,

I am writing on behalf of the Rehmatabad Electronic Market Association (REMA) to bring to

your attention the severe damage caused to our market during the recent monsoon season.
The heavy rain has collapsed the city's drainage system, leading to water and drain water
entering the basement and ground floor of the market, causing damage to goods worth
billions of rupees.

I am aware that the city government does not have any direct responsibility for the collapse
of the drainage system, however, we are approaching you because our market is one of the
most important economic hubs of the city and the damages incurred by the traders has had
a severe impact on the local economy. The majority of our traders, except a few, do not
have insurance for their goods and hence, we humbly request that the city government
compensate the losses incurred by them.

We also request your attention to take necessary steps to avoid recurrence of similar
situations in future. The proposed solutions we recommend include better maintenance of
the drainage system, regular de-silting and construction of a modern drainage system that
can cater to the increased volume of water during heavy rainfall. We also recommend the
installation of early warning systems for heavy rainfall, in order to give traders enough time
to secure their goods before such an event occurs.

In conclusion, we hope that you will take our request for compensation seriously, and take
steps to avoid the recurrence of similar incidents in the future. We are willing to provide any
further information or assistance that may be required in this regard.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Sincerely,
Rizwan Alvi
President, REMA.

12. Cricket is the most popular sport in Trueland; however, due to occurrence of terror incidents in past,
international matches are held under tight security. Besides providing 24X7 armed security to the
teams, allroads, around the teams’ hotel, cricket stadium and from hotelto cricketstadium, remain
closed for general public whenever a cricket match is held. Further all shops and offices in such areas
are also remained closed during this period. Such arrangements not only cause inconvenience to the
citizens but also affect business activities. The management committee of Trueland Chamber of
Commerce (TCC) is gravely concerned about the loss sustained by the business community due to
closure of business as part of security arrangements for cricket matches. During its recent meeting, it
has been decided thatthe President of TCC will approach interior ministry for the resolution of these
concerns. Write a letter on behalf of Danish Salman, President of TCC, to the Interior Minister,
Behram Khan, explaining to him the impact caused by security arrangements on the daily routine of
citizens and particularly on business activities. Also suggest possible solution(s) to the above problems
identified by you. You may assume necessary details. TCC is situated at 101 City Centre, Stadium
Road, Truleland while Interior Minister’s address is Office of Interior Affairs, Justice Street, Trueland.

Dear Minister Khan,

I am writing to you on behalf of the Trueland Chamber of Commerce (TCC) to express our
grave concern about the impact that the security arrangements for cricket matches have on
the daily routine of citizens and business activities in Trueland.

As you may be aware, due to the occurrence of past terror incidents, international cricket
matches in Trueland are held under tight security. This includes 24x7 armed security for the
teams, as well as the closure of roads around the teams' hotel, cricket stadium, and the
hotel to cricket stadium route for the general public during matches. Furthermore, all shops
and offices in such areas are also closed during this period.

We understand the need for security measures to ensure the safety of all involved.
However, we have received numerous complaints from our members about the
inconvenience caused to citizens and the significant loss sustained by the business
community due to the closure of business as part of these security arrangements.

We suggest that alternative solutions be considered in order to alleviate the impact on

citizens and businesses. One possible solution could be to provide increased compensation
to affected businesses during the closure period. Another solution could be to create
designated areas for protests and demonstrations away from the cricket stadium, hotel and
the route that is used to travel between these locations.

We would greatly appreciate if you could address this matter at your earliest convenience
and provide us with any suggestions that you may have on how to resolve these issues. We
understand that security is the most important aspect to consider, but we would greatly
appreciate if we could work together to find a solution that benefits everyone.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Danish Salman,
President, Trueland Chamber of Commerce
