Please read Chapter 4 to answer the following items. Answer these briefly and concisely.

1. Enumerate the Types of Music

Answer:
The types of music are classical music, country music, electronic music,
jazz, Latin music, pop music, metal, punk, rap, reggae, Rhythm and Blues and rock
music.

2. Briefly discuss the different functions of the orchestral instruments

Answer:
• Woodwind Instruments- produce sound through the vibration of the air
column inside the tube
• String Instruments- the vibration of the stings makes the instruments sounds
• Brass Instruments- valves are press and released to change and produce
different tones
• Percussion Instruments- sound will be produced if the instrument will be
struck.

3. What is Dance?
Answer:
Dance is a form of nonverbal communication which normally uses body to
express and communicate feelings through body movements.

4. Which of the elements of dance do you think is the most important? Why?
Answer:
I think all the elements of Dance are important since these are the
components of making an artwork through Dance. But I think the most important
elements is the BODY itself. The body initiates movements that can convey
emotions and feelings.

5. Enumerate the Elements of Theater. (No need to explain)

Answer:
The elements of theater are Performers, Audience, Director, Theater
Space/Set, Designing Elements, Scene Design, Costume Design and Sound and
Lights.

6. What is your plan for your performance exam? If there is no plan yet, when are
you going to have your conceptualization?
Answer:
As a director of the group, we have come up to a decision to select HIGH
SCHOOL MUSICAL as our chosen piece. We have already assigned students who
will play as characters. We also incorporated ideas about costumes and props.
 With regards to the practices, the majority agreed to have practices on Mon-Wed
from 10 am to 12 pm.

7. Among the elements of theater, which do you think can be applied in your
presentation?
Answer:
I think all the elements will be used in our performance.

8. What is your contribution to your Performance exam?

Answer:
Director.

9. How to achieve a successful performance?

Answer:
I think through communication and unity.

10. Based on your answer in #9 can you promise that you can do that? If yes, how? If
not, why?
Answer:
Yes. Because I am a type of student who is academically inclined so I
always make sure that everyone is working to foster collaborative effort and of
course to consistently provide information to make sure that everyone is well-
informed.
