Pasos preparatorios
ADVERTENCIA
Las baterías pueden emitir gases explosivos. Para reducir la posibilidad de lesiones
personales, siempre ventile el compartimento antes mantenimiento de las baterías.
Para reducir la posibilidad de arco eléctrico, retire primero el cable negativo (-) de la
batería y conecte el negativo (-) Último cable de la batería.
ADVERTENCIA
No retire la tapa de presión de un motor caliente. Espere hasta que la temperatura del
refrigerante sea inferior a 50 °C [120 °F] antes de retirarlo la tapa de presión. El aerosol
refrigerante calentado o el vapor pueden causar lesiones personales.
ADVERTENCIA
Para reducir la posibilidad de lesiones personales, evite el contacto directo con aceite
caliente con su piel.
ADVERTENCIA
Algunas agencias estatales y federales han determinado que el aceite de motor usado
puede ser cancerígeno y causar toxicidad reproductiva. Evite la inhalación de vapores,
la ingestión y el contacto prolongado con aceite de motor usado. Si no se reutiliza,
deséchelo de acuerdo con las regulaciones locales de estadísticas ambientales.

Eliminar
Retire uno de los tornillos de tapón M20 e instale un perno
guía.
Retire la brida.

Instale un perno guía de 18 mm y una tuerca en la brida del
cigüeñal.
Valor de par:
1. 76 n•m [ 56 ft-lb ]
2. 261 n•m [ 193 ft-lb ]
3. 261 n•m [ 193 ft-lb ]
CAUTELA
No martillee ni haga palanca en el amortiguador de
vibraciones con herramientas afiladas o puntiagudas.
Daños más allá de la usabilidad en el amortiguador de
vibraciones puede resultar.
ADVERTENCIA
Este componente o conjunto pesa más de 23 kg [50 lb].
Para prevenir lesiones personales graves, asegúrese de
tener asistencia o utilice el equipo de elevación
adecuado para levantar este componente o conjunto.

Comprobación de excentricidad
Use un indicador de dial y ajústelo como se muestra para
medir la alineación radial del amortiguador de vibraciones.
Gire el cigüeñal 360 grados y registrar el TIR.
Excentricidad máxima: 1,02 mm [0,040 pulg].

Comprobación de oscilación
Nota : El espacio libre del extremo del cigüeñal debe
empujarse o tirarse en la misma dirección cada vez
que se realice una medición.
Oscilación máxima: 1,02 mm [0,04 pulg].
Finishing Steps
WARNING
Batteries can emit explosive gasses. To reduce the possibility of personal injury,
always ventilate the compartment before servicing the batteries. To reduce the
possibility of arcing, remove the negative (-) battery cable first and attach the negative
(-) battery cable last.
Fill the engine with clean lubricating oil. Refer to Procedure 007-002 in Section 7.

Fill the cooling system. Refer to Procedure 008-018 in Section 8.

Connect the batteries, if necessary. See equipment manufacturer service information.
Connect air starting motor, if necessary. Refer to Procedure 012-022 in Section 12.

Remove the lockout tag from the generator set before operating the engine.
Operate the engine and check for proper operation.
Test
Fluid Analysis
Perform a Fluid Analysis Test on the vibration damper fluids.
Multiple Turbochargers
Isolate and install a lockout tag on the generator set before beginning any repairs or
maintenance, to isolate the engine to prevent starting. Refer to Procedure 204-006 in
Section i. (/qs3/pubsys2/xml/en/procedures/99/99-204-006.html)
Disconnect the batteries, if necessary. See equipment manufacturer service information.
Disconnect the air starting motor, if necessary. Refer to Procedure 012-022 in Section 12.

For fluid analysis, remove the A9 crankcase access cover to gain access to the vibration
damper inner sampling plug. Refer to Procedure 001-006 in Section 1.

Remove the cap nut with the threads that match the
sampling plug.
As soon as the fluid begins to flow out of the open end of the
sample container, install the cap nut.
Note : The sample container must be at least 75
percent full.
Install a new seal on the sampling plug.
