About Ikan Gabus (Channa


striata)

Ikan gabus is a kind of predator !sh that


live in fresh water. This !sh is known by
many names in various regions: bocek
from riau, aruan, haruan (Mly., Bjn),
kocolan (Btw.), Bogo (Sd.), Bayong, bogo,
lingan (Bms.), Curse (Jw. ), Kabos (Mhs.)
And others. In English it is also called by
various names like common snakehead,
snakehead murrel, chevron snakehead,
striped snakehead and also aruan.

Ikan Gabus are widespread from western


Pakistan, southern Nepal, most areas of
India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, southern
China, and much of Southeast Asia
including Indonesia.

It is known that the !sh is very rich in


albumin, one of the important proteins.
Albumin required the human body every
day, especially in the healing process of
wounds. Provision of !sh meat or protein
extract has been tried to increase levels of
albumin in the blood and help cure some
