1172 scale ©2004 Update Set for the Airfix/Heller eras Puma helicopter in RAF service including Resin, White Metal and etched brass parts Set # WBA 72030 Introduction The Westland/Aerospatiale SA.330 Puma has been in RAF service since the 1970s. In the intervening years the Puma has undergone many upgrades in avionics and defensive systems. This update set is intended for the Airfix (and also Heller - they are basically the same kit) Puma kit, and provides details and additions to bring the external equipment fit up to date so that the modeller can build an RAF Puma as seen at the beginning of the 21st century. Preparation: general instructions Remove resin parts carefully from the moulding blocks to which they are attached. Remember that resin dust can be harmful; we therefore suggest that you use a mask when sanding, and sand wet rather than dry, Remove any flash from white metal parts, and tidy up any mould lines. Cut etched brass pieces carefully from their frame, taking care that they do not “escape” Resin, etched brass and white metal items can be attached with cyanoacrylate adhesive Paint as desired using any hobby paints.
