Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

Poojya Swami Bhoomananda Tirthaji, a knower of the Supreme

Truth, is a Saint of the “Tirtha” lineage of Adi Sankara. A disciple
of Baba Gangadhara Paramahamsa of Dakshinkhanda, West
Bengal, he embraced sannyaasa at the age of 23.

For over 50 years, Poojya Swamiji has been traveling

throughout the world like a moving university, exposing the
audiences to a rational interpretation of our great spiritual
compositions like the Bhagavadgeeta, Sreemad Bhaagavatam,
the Upanishads, Yogavaasistha Ramayana and others.

Poojya Swamiji is tirelessly working for the transformation of

the human society, its betterment and upliftment. Initiating
seekers into the sublime journey of Self-Realization, he guides
them constantly to tread the integrated path of karma, jnaana
and bhakti to reach their innermost abode of joy and bliss.

Swamiji presents Bhagavadgeeta as an ‘Administrative Gospel’,

especially meant to inculcate excellence in professional life. His
pragmatic interpretation has instilled the spirit of dedication
and excellence transforming countless professionals,
householders and students. Poojya Swamiji’s interactions with
the Corporate Executives have helped management thinkers to
incorporate spiritual values into organizational culture.

Teachings

Swamiji’s special effort has been to make seekers understand

that the real focus

(i) of devotional practices is not God, but the devotee’s

own mind and behaviour;

(ii) of karmayoga is not action but the attitude of the

mind with which an action is performed;

(iii) of knowledge is not knowledge, but the purification

and expansion of the seeker’s mind.

Poojya Swamiji upholds that all problems in human life are born
of the mind, and so the solutions thereof are also to be found
within the mind. Thus, one must make the outgoing mind
look inward. This is effected through two means:

1. Meditative Introspection that makes the seeker aware of

the profound dimensions and potentials held within the mind
and intelligence. The seeker discovers the real nature of the
mind as well as the world, and realizes that for all joy and
fulfillment, one need look to his mind and inner resources alone,
not outside.

2. Interactional Saadhana which is a technique of shifting

our focus from the external situation to the mind’s response
to it, and treating the mind through knowledge so that any
interaction will lead to inner enrichment. While meditative
introspection is a time-bound pursuit, interactional saadhana
aims to transform every moment of our wakeful life into a
spiritual pursuit of inner purification and enrichment.
The two processes together embellish the personality with great
clarity, confidence and poise leading to greater excellence in
any field of activity.

Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha

Born in a spiritual family of Bengal,

Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha evinced
a strong inclination for the spiritual
path from a very young age, and came
in touch with Swamiji at the age of
sixteen. While in college, he received
deeksha from Baba Gangadhara Paramahamsa (Poojya
Swamiji’s Gurudev).

In 1987, Nutan Swamiji (as he is affectionately called)

renounced his professional life as a scientist and assistant
professor in the Radar & Communication Centre of I.I.T -
Kharagpur, and dedicated himself wholesomely to the service of
Poojya Swamiji. Attaining enlightenment under Poojya Swamiji’s
guidance, he has been playing an important role in the growth
and activities of the Ashram as well as the CIRDs (Centres for
Inner Resources Development) around the world.

Nutan Swamiji’s brilliant exposition of the Upanishads inspires

the rational seekers to apply the eternal concepts for their
comprehensive growth and fulfillment. The lofty Upanishadic
verses chanted in his pristine voice brings in the touch of
eternity. His keen insight, gentle humour and loving remarks
help seekers deal with the knots of their mind and heart.

Ma Gurupriya

Born in a family of academic excellence, Ma Gurupriya’s

spiritual journey began during her
days of postgraduate scientific
research, when an overwhelming
feeling of dispassion evoked an
intense yearning for something
Eternal. She received deeksha
from Baba Gangadhara
Paramahamsa, who entrusted her
spiritual welfare to Poojya Swamiji
before attaining Mahasamadhi.

Ma renounced her professional life as a lecturer in Physics in

1987, to dedicate her life at the feet of Poojya Swamiji. Ma
attained enlightenment under Poojya Swamiji’s guidance and is
the Loving Mother for Poojya Swamiji’s devotees and disciples
around the world.
The Guru-bhakti and Guru-seva that remain the predominant
forces shaping Ma’s life are expressed in all aspects of her life –
her discourses and writings, systematic management of Ashram
affairs and loving guidance to seekers. Her soulful chanting of
Guru Stotras and other slokas echo the power of eternal Truth
and devotion.
Narayanashrama Tapovanam

An abode of Learning

Narayanashrama Tapovanam emerged as an abode of learning

around Poojya Swamiji in 1963. The Ashram located in Trichur,
Kerala, embodies the unique tradition of Guru-shishya
Parampara, disseminating Brahma-vidya (Science of Self-
knowledge) through regular classes, satsangs, and above all,
through learning in the association of a realized spiritual Master.
The focus is on the study of the mind and its behavioural
intricacies – to make it free and fulfilled.

The Ashram contributes significantly to the cultural welfare and

evolution of the society, playing an active role in the
environmental and economic welfare of the surrounding
villages.

Centre for Inner Resources Development

Poojya Swamiji conceived of the Centre for Inner Resources

Development (CIRD) as a unique institution that will help
individuals discover and harness their Inner Resources through
a deeper understanding of the human mind and develop a
poised all-embracing personality. Under his guidance,
workshops, classes, satsangs, special classes for
underprivileged children, etc. are held at CIRD regularly. The
first CIRD came up in Vasundhara near Delhi in 1999. Devotees
and seekers worldwide soon recognized the benefits of such an
institution and thus similar Centres are coming up in Malaysia,
USA, Jamshedpur and Chennai.
