Fix My Street Brussels is an initiative of Brussels Mobility in collaboration with the 19

municipalities of the Brussels agglomeration and partner institutions1.

Launched in 2013, this platform allows citizens to report incidents/disturbances 2 such as

damaged pavements, abandoned objects, defective public lighting in public places in the
Brussels-Capital Region, and allows administrations to follow up on these reports3.

This internet and mobile platform was designed and is maintained by the CIRB, but the
original idea is MySociety's FixMyStreet from visiblegovernment.ca4.

The Fix My Street app is available for free via Google Play or Apple Store but the website
www.fixmystreet.brussels can also be used5. All you need is one of the following operating
systems: Microsoft Windows, Apple Macintosh and Linux with the following software:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 11; Microsoft Edge 38 and higher; Mozilla FireFox 50 and
higher; Google Chrome 53 and higher or Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 and higher6.

The use of this platform is very simple and easy. It allows you to take a photo of an incident
observed in the public space of one of the 19 communes of the Brussels agglomeration and to
immediately transmit it to the competent service. But photos or comments that are deemed
inappropriate, illegal or abusive by the platform's managers will not be published.

Three types of personal data are collected on this portal

•cookies
•statistics related to reported incidents
•the identity data of citizens reporting an incident, with their consent.
These details are passed on to the relevant department so that contact can be made if
necessary. No personal information appears on the platform or is passed on to a third
party.
The e-mail address provided by a citizen is only used to receive :
◌a notification of the follow-up of the incident reported by this same citizen
◌a follow-up notification of an incident reported by another person but for
which the citizen has requested a follow-up.
