Smart City - Efficient Security System

Problem Statement

With the increase in urban population and desire to develop smart city, Security would
become a very important aspect. After all, what citizen would consider a city smart if
they do not feel secure in it?

Challenges

1) Prevent thefts and violence

2) Prevent Accidents
3) Remedial measures to minimize casualty
4) Addressing various citizen’s concern

Solution

What we have come up to address the above problems is a “Smart Center”. A center
similar to municipality with the added advantage of being independent, fast-paced and
robust.

So, How would it prevent theft?

Well, how about a pose detection and object detection algorithm to detect such
incidents. With continuous trained data, the smart center would immediately receive an
alert pertaining to such incidents and either notify the owner of the store or dispatch a
QRT to address incidence of violence.
And, how it would prevent accidents and minimize casualty?

Additionally, based on the our surveillance system, we could also cater to the following
issues :-

1. Automated Parking :- Detected empty parking space and assign the next vacant
slot in a systematic way
2. Smart Corridors :- Save energy consumption by turning off streets or highway
lights if there are no vehicles or pedestrian on road or highway
3. Automated Garbage Disposal :- GPS installed bins so as to facilitate collection
and disposal of waste by robots.

All this and much more if we can harness the technological capability of a smart city. As
Elon Musk said,

“ You can absolutely be superhuman with just cameras”
