This is a project report on “VEHICLE THEFT DETECTION SYSTEM” we

are very grateful and thankful to our project guide Dr. Shanky Saxena sir,
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Lovely
Professional University, Phagwara for his valuable and assistance provide to us,
without his accomplishment of the task would have never been possible. We
also thank him for giving this opportunity and explore our knowledge and make
us apply it on a real time project.
1. ABSTRACT :-

In the present era Security plays an important role in every situation or in

everything and it was a big concern at present days. Fingerprint based vehicle
theft recognition system provides us the best secure system from different type
of theft attacks. Every individual have fingerprints and the prints can be scanned
quickly by using proper devices and this uniqueness provides a height security
and it was very easy to use, no need to do anything just placing of finger is
enough. The proposed system is an attempt to make a highly securable
recognition system using fingerprint scanner to identify the person and along
with this GPS and GSM has been interfaced to detect the exact vehicle location
and send this location to a mobile number using GSM.

The main aim of our vehicle theft detection system is to give the Security to all
the vehicles. For vehicles this is the improved security system. The most useful
modules like GPS module are highly useful in present era (days), the proposed
system allows the owner to observe the vehicle location and track his vehicle
and it finds out the every movement of the vehicle.

2. INTRODUCTION:-
Now a day's vehicle theft cases are increasing every day. It was difficult to give
security to our vehicles when we parked our vehicles. The best way to secure
the vehicle from thefts is locking vehicle framework. It is vehicle security
system that gives a best to vehicles. This system framework cannot be
established to give the full security system and directness to the vehicle. So
mainly if we give more security framework it makes the use of an already
inserted framework which is going to be focused the GPS and GSM module
innovation. In this system we used thumb impression. By using thumb
impression we can identify the theft when the thumb is not matched and the
owner gets the message by using GSM module and allow only authenticated
users. It also user friendly, fast access, fingerprint reorganization technology.
Along with GPS and GSM system. This system model of the vehicle security
system is made using microcontroller which is based on embedded platform that
control the all operations. The cost of this is less and it enhances the security. If
theft attempts to unlock the vehicle using a thumb impression, if it is not
matched with the fingerprint which is already saved then it sends a SMS to
owner. Thumb impression system is placed at the engine ignition .By using the
GPS module technology vehicle tracking is very easy. Thus the our system
provide high security at all the level.

Initially from the satellite GPS module every time takes the input information
and it will keep the latitude and longitude values in microcontroller. If anyone
wants to track and see the position of the vehicle, by using GSM module we
want to send a message. It will activate by finding the accident on IR sensor, by
finding the theft who is connected to the vehicle and parallel GPS module will
deactivates. After activating GSM module it will take the positions of vehicle
and sends the sms to the particular number already which we have kept.

This new technology mainly called the vehicle theft detection and which are
created the many useful things in the security of vehicles. This system hardware
is assembled in the vehicle in such a way that it was not able to be seen to any
person who is in the vehicle or outside the vehicle. Thus it is used as a hidden
unit which always sends the location information to the monitoring division.
Whenever the vehicle is stolen by the robber, the location information from the
tracking system could be used to find the location and can be informed to police
for the further action. Some of the Vehicle tracking System can able to sense the
unauthorized actions of the vehicle and then it will ready to act to the owner.

3. Objective of the project:-

To detect and track the theft vehicle using the GSM module, GPS module,
Fingerprint sensor and solenoid pump. in this project by using GSM and GPS
we track the vehicle. When the thief try to open the door without using a
fingerprint sensor, the car owner will get the message. if he can’t get a message
with any issue. The car will be stopped less than one kilometer because a
solenoid pump is connected between the engine and fuel tank and solenoid
pump will not send the fuel to the engine. when the thief start the car by using
wrong ignition key.
4. Literature Review:-
1. Vehicle theft detection system proposed by [1] uses the Number plate
detection system (License Number plate detection System) which detects the
theft vehicle by identifying the characters on the plate of automobile. Number
plate is detected by 3 processing steps, Detection and segmentation of
characters in the plate. First they take the picture of the vehicle and converting
into gray scale image they extract the letters and numbers of the plate. So that
they can identify the vehicle that was stolen and the vehicles not obeying traffic
rules can be caught. They use most complicated algorithms to detect the
characters in the plate. In this they had very poor system because if the vehicle
was stolen the thief can put some colour on the plate and that will become
useless to detect the vehicle. And they have to use high resolution cameras for
this it will be more cost to make this project.

2. An Automated vehicle theft detection proposed by[2] Uses the number plate
detection of a vehicle using edge detection methods of a image. If an object is
detected it will extract from the background and letters and numbers are
detected If there is any noise in the image it uses filters and removes the noise.
The characters are detected by Canny edge detection. If any Camera is not
worked and if there is lot of noise in the image the characters cannot be detected.
In our project we have not used any cameras to detect the vehicle we are
providing all the security features before the car stolen.

3.Anti-Theft Vehicle Tracking and Immobilization System proposed by [3]

Uses the GSM module and GPS module which sends the information regarding
vehicle. When the vehicle had stolen the owner receives the latitude and also the
longitude of the vehicle location. The owner gets directly to his mobile number
because they used the GSM module. When compared to our project the system
proposed is same but we added a security feature to this system we added
because why we has to give a chance to the thief to stole the vehicle. We used
the finger print scanner if it does not matched and car had started the owner gets
immediate message and he can stop the fuel passage to the vehicle.

4. Vehicle Number Plate recognizing system that used the Bounding Box
Technique proposed by[4] which detects the vehicles that are violated rules and
stolen. They used the Bounding Box method, Segmentation and filter of the
image. These methods are useful if the image is visible very clearly and if there
is some noise by filtering we can remove the noise. In this proposed system
there are lot of drawbacks for this so we proposed a system that we are not
giving a choice to stole the vehicle if the car had started without fingerprint of
the owner the fuel automatically cuts off.

5. Nowadays vehicle robberies are very high in cities, so tracking sensors are
being kept with more and more prestige. These system though tolerate a few
restrictions such as too high rates, and are easy to remove. This project
describes the achievement and assessment for dealing with these restrictions. In
this model, sensors in vehicles kept at the same place lot initial detect a sensor
system, then detect illegal vehicle driving and inspect for possible vehicle theft.
After an illegal move is detected, an alert and good report will be made to the
station where the car is parked, By which carefully mails the station. This
project mainly tells about practical problems for systems.

6- The approach proposes that each critical electrical device should be included
with this module it will not tolerate the functions of apparatus if it found by
itself, so it is criminally transported to a new vehicle. Each model enabled
electrical device will validate itself with the car's permitted center, forward
power-on, to see if it is in the correct car. Permitted centers may also be
restricted by immobilizer. Such a move would increase the anti-theft capability
of cars.

7- Identification of scam actions and anomalies in vehicle driving are two main
concerns for vehicle convoy production. Some of these which cause heavy
damage to the association include illegal activities related to fuel theft, loading
and unloading, path variation, inefficient fuel continuity and common
breakdowns. The planned system monitors certain vehicle parameters and
provides solutions to these problems with the help of sensors and related
mechanisms. The discrepancy and scam action detects using the sensors present
in the vehicle that it is continuously reorganized and send the number to the
server, at what place and other important information. System always interacts
with the server when there is incidence of an action which reduces the price of
usage and the matching alerts are also given to the monitor agents. The
schematic repeated mobile phone-based model uses a new Android application
to inspect and visualize the locations of various functions avoiding the need for
a 24/7 monitor.

8- The study is primarily based on an electronic device, which can be used in

times of emergency when the person driving the vehicle. It involves the
definitive concept of wireless technology .When the person affected by an
accident, the technology used to identify the accident location is ZigBee and
GSM, and also many other sensors with the help of which the accident person
can be reached immediately. The complete formation is done by the
microcontroller. And furthermore, we can use another function of DTMF, with
the help of which the appropriate user can follow the security measures when
the vehicle is robbed, then the material for the study that Zig for the
communication purpose of the message -bee can use other vehicle at the time of
necessary help for the possibility of being well and safe, the speed of the vehicle
is clearly visible and with the effect of the search mechanical Door lock is used.
We use Global Positioning System technology to find exact car location.

9-This thesis tells about the option moves forward for vehicle safety by given
that stealing suggestion and recognition. The planned system provide three
features together with suggestion about the interloper, calculating the vehicle
and also provide the ability of detection of known User or sending capture
image unidentified person using SMS and MMS. The planned system up to
date the owner about the unofficial entry by sending SMS. The owner of the
vehicle can also be used to stop the engine by sending SMS to the car.
Additional, owner facial image is capture by the camera attaches to the system
and forward to the owner’s mobile using MMS. In general systems is design
and implement using GPS and Raspberry PI regulator. The results are
confirmed and experienced to confirm the system’s checking.

10- An automobile air gesture vehicle theft detection uses the key less remote as
the main part to escape from the vehicle theft. But by using this system it is
used for some extent only and some gravitational system smart lock is used to
escape from the vehicle theft by giving the air gesture key to the vehicle then it
can give high security to vehicle. The owner can able to track his vehicle and
see his vehicle which was stolen at anytime from anywhere. In this system they
didn’t used thumb impression. Before opening the vehicle door by using thumb
impression we can identify the theft easily when the thumb is not matched and
the owner gets the message by using GSM module. If the thumb didn’t matched
more than three times automatically the owner gets the message.

11- By using RFID system to the vehicles we can identify the theft who are
trying to open the vehicle door. Mainly it addresses the three main major
problems like timings of the traffic lights, congestion's on vehicles which are
stolen by theft on roads. This is a simple technique and one way to measure the
quotient of traffic which depends on the measurements of the road and the
behaviour of the traffic. The main aim is to track the vehicle by using the radio
frequency ID and if we add thumb impression in this system we can find easily
and can send the message to the vehicle owner through GSM later we will track
that vechicle location by GPS.
12- Now a day’s fuel thefts also increased like vehicle thefts in the society. In
present days the vehicles are increased and for that vehicles drivers are also
increased and when they are going to the petrol pumps they are not giving the
money to them escaping then by using cctv we can take pictures of the car
number plate. Like this after vehicle has stolen they are filling petrol and
escaping. To control this kind of situation we have anti petrol theft which has
CCTV and their faces.

13-As an important part of smart vehicle parking systems, in the present days,
the vehicle detection method is The piece of writing presents, it can be test
synchronous vehicles by another setting the infrared transmitted tube and
absorbing tube on every part of the road. Suppose a vehicle passing through
the identifying area, the detector can exactly or rapidly given the proof for the
given information for existence of the vehicles and the amount of traffic, It
can be searching on the basis of the number of sensors intercepting, the vehicle
location and other information of the vehicle, such as the width, height, and size
etc., can be. In this it can be used the identify the copy of the vehicle, the
Detecting device uses the first wireless network that can be Zigbee technology
and the main purpose of using this network is it require less power usage, low
cost, difficulty level is also low, and it has high effectiveness. And further we
can make a screen detecting agent, And then make some changes, the function
of the system may be more varied, it can be like security light screens, etc. As
the system can detect more information, by using software programming
progresses, and especially it will deliver data. Can be logically adapted. This
detection system can be use by many other widespread uses i.e not only used im
vehicle detection to develop the more of work handling area and used in other
places like road traffic and other ,even security can be done.

14-Now a days vehicle theft detection is one of the major concern for the
owners to identify the theft they are using a infrared detection technology which
can scanning vehicle existing has been used to detect the weather the theft is
owner or some other person and it is only detect when a vehicle moving through
the identifying place and it will not detect when the car break the wall or not in
the position of parking area.in addition to identify the device first use wireless
network. if we use zigbee wireless protocol it is having the wide range of uses ,
while using this technique the process of this technique is detecting the vehicle
is infrared sensor is send data to zigbee module to the control system and main
machine interactive interface. In this they are not used the face detection
method if we use this technique the efficiency of the cost is low compared to the
Zigbee wireless technique.
15-Security concern for the vehicle is the common issue in insecure parking
places by reducing this issue they are using an automatic device has been
implemented , to deal these kind of similarity affires. this system will help the
wretched victims by identifying the nearest sudden support , in this process for
the security purpose they are using some the the steps of security techniques are
password privacy of the particular vehicle , at first authorized member need to
save in their system using the with their fingerprint and the another techniques
are speed control mechanism and ignition of the fuel is stop by using this it is
impossible to the theft when he stolen vehicle. If we want start the vehicle
Some of the vehicle have the arrangement to start the vehicle is lower side the
key is linked with electric mount in this process the engine will not start if
electric mount will not open until the key is inserted and by using these
methods the effective of the entire system will be efficacious.

16- Now-a-days fuel theft also increased like vehicle theft in the society. At the
present time, the vehicles increase and for that the drivers also increase and
when they are going to the petrol pumps they are not paying them to run, then
using CCTV we take pictures of the car number plate can. In this way, they are
filling petrol and escaping after the vehicle is stolen. To control this kind of
situation we have antipyretic theft which consists of CCTVs and their faces. In
this Designing Security Intelligent Agent for Petrol Theft Prevention, he did not
use thumbprints before entering the vehicle. Using a thumb impression we can
identify theft when the thumb does not match and the owner gets the message
using the GSM module. But using this method we can also identify petrol theft
by using CCTV and capturing the number plate of vehicles.

17-Vehicle tracking system when thief stolen the car it will send the message to
the owner and it is based on IOT it provides all around active service to owners.
The system is control by using RFID to off and on the switch.in svats, sensor
network vehicle the theft tracking system is used to avoid the theft the vehicle
from the parking area by microcontroller and the power supply is on GPS stores
the car location latitude and longitude and information is collected by E2 prom
chip. To unlock the door or start the person need to enter the password if the
password is incorrect the owner will get the message. The user should ware the
seat belt and enter the password then car will start. When we park the car road
side if it towed by someone the limit switch will press automatically. It send the
information to controller then controller will sends the command to the
dashboard and it will send mobile to Bluetooth module dashbord send the
information to the user by message with GPS module. In our project we are
using GSM and GPS tracking system and also finger print if the thief stolen the
car the GSM send the message to owner and GPS will send the location of the
car. if the finger print is wrong more then three times the owner will get the
message.

18- Traffic surveillance plays a important role in improvement of traffic safety’s.

because of huge number of vehicles the accidents and theft of vehicles are
happened to reduce. This LPDRS (license plate detection system) will filter the
image of car. In our project we are using GSM and GPS tracking system and
also finger print if the thief stolen the car the GSM send the message to owner
and GPS will send the location of the car. if the finger print is wrong more then
three times the owner will get the message.

19.The Audio-based monitoring system is used in the forest areas because to

save the animals and timber in the forest if the un authorized vehicles are in the
restricted area in the forest then it will send the message to the officers. Vehicle
tracking system and audio-based detection system is used but thumb impression
is not used when the wrong person thumb is detected then system will send the
message to car owner.

20. In this project they used GSM module and GPS module system is used to
track the vehicle and also face detection system also used if the person is wrong
then it will send the message to owner. Vehicle tracking system and face
detection system is used but thumb impression is not used when the wrong
person thumb is detected then the GSM will send sms to the owner.

21. Tower theft monitoring system is used to find the objects It also include
collection of images and video transmission and image smoothing and
classification of images, filtering the in this also svm system is used to find the
object. but thumb impression is not used when the wrong person thumb is
detected then system will send message to the car owner.

5. Research Gaps:-
1. In Vehicle theft tracking system project proposed by different authors had
not been implemented or best use of the finger print sensor has not been
implemented. By using this finger print sensor only the authorized person
can access the system and unauthorized person cannot access the system.
2. In this project proposed by all authors who have been implemented or
investigated ,most of them have used voice detection system but by using
the voice detection there are many drawbacks like thief can mimicry and
sometimes owner voice can change due of his health conditions.
3. In vehicle theft tracking system GSM module and GPS module is used
widely but with these finger print sensor has not been interfaced.
4. When comparing to face detection and finger print sensor the cost of face
detection is high and efficiency also less.
5. In this Vehicle theft tracking system using finger print sensor project. We
are aimed to implement theft tracking device with real time tracking and
control by user and by using GSM and GPS modules.
6. Many of the authors has not proposed the prototype that can be used real
time like implementing real engine of a vehicle.

6. Research methodology :-

Arduino:-
Arduino is a platform that is open for all and it will be very easy for using and it
is the combination of the hardware and the software. For many projects it was
like a head. It has able to read the inputs from the sensors connected to it for
example light detection, finger placed on something or a message from other
services. And then it will collect these inputs and gives output appropriately.
Like turning the LED ON and turning on the motor etc.., it can read the Analog
and the digital inputs but it can give output only in the form of digital. It has the
six analog pins and 14 pins of digital and two serial pins (RX and TX). It has
microcontroller ATmega328P. And the programming for this IDE is very easy
and easy environment.

GSM Module:-

GSM means Global system module is used for communication. A sim card has
to be inserted for communication. Messages can be received for defined number
using sim card. Time Division Multiple Access method is used for this process.
It can communicate mobile, Computer over a network. It can also be connected
to the computer through Bluetooth or serial ports. It has the abilities to make a
call or send a message and it can delete messages also in the SIM card that are
received or send by the GSM.
A sim card is required to activate communication with the networks
which contains IMEI number issued for the sim card. GSM module can
perform many operations like:
1. Receive , Send or Delete the SMS on SIM .
2. Make , receive or reject the voice call.

The GSM modem can be used for communication like messages. To and from
the owner. It is a typical type of modem in which contains SIM card, and
operates over a subscription to a mobile operator, just like a mobile phone.
From the mobile operator view , a GSM modem is like a mobile phone SIM900
is a complete GSM solution in a SMT module this can be execute in a the
clients applications. Featuring an industry-standard interface, the SIM900 give
GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz performance for voice, SMS, Data, and Fax in a
small form factor and with power consumption is very low.

GSM carrier frequencies GSM networks manage in a number of different

carrier frequency range separated into GSM frequency ranges for 2G and
UMTS frequency bands for 3G with most 2G GSM networks handling in the
900MHZ or 1800 MHz bands .while these bands were previously assigned the
850MHz The transmission power in the handset is permitted to a maximum of 2
watts in GSM 850/900 and 1 watt in GSM 1800/1900.

Features of GSM:

1 Single supply voltage

2 Typical power consumption

3 Tri-band

4 MT,MO,CB, text and PDU mode,

5 SMS storage: SIM card

The above circuit diagram shows the circuit of a GSM and GPS based vehicle
detecting system. It is having a LCD, GPS module, GSM modem . GPS module
gets the information of exact location from satellites in the view of latitude and
longitude. The microcontroller will process this information and transmits it to
the GSM modem. The GSM modem then send the information to the owner’s
mobile phone.

GPS Module:-

GPS is used to send the vehicle location and time where this module is fitted. It
a satellite navigation system and performs in All sorts of weather conditions. It
is connected with min of 4 satellites in the space. It sends the Latitude and
Longitude details so that we can search these details in the Google Maps and get
the exact location of it. We can access it freely as US is maintaining.

It is used in many fields in medical, military etc. The system should give
prioritized capabilities to commercial users and military around the world. It can
be available to anyone with a GPS receiver. GPS work in all weather conditions
from any where in the world.

A Global positioning systems (GPS) receiver should be locked on to the signal

of minimum three satellites to evaluate 2D position (latitude and longitude) and
trace movement. Receiver can find the user's 3D position (latitude, longitude
and altitude) using fourth satellite . Once the position of the vehicle has been
detected, the GPS unit can govern other information like, speed, distance to
destination, time etc.
GPS receiver is used for this research work to detect the vehicle location and
give the exact location of information to responsible person or vehicle owner.
Distance between a GPS satellite and a GPS receiver by measuring the amount
of time taken by a radio signal (the GPS signal) to go from the satellite to the
receiver is done by GPS server. To get precise information, the satellites and the
receiver use very exact clocks, which are synchronised so that they generate the
same code at exactly the same time

Finger Print Sensor:-

Everyone has an individual finger prints, based on this the finger print sensor
works. It reads the finger prints and gives the scanned information to the system
and then the system recognizes the scanned print and checks the authorized
person. It is used for Mainly security purpose to access something.

The following are the four types of fingerprint sensors:

1.Optical sensor
2.Ultrasound fingerprint sensor
3.Thermal sensor
4.Capacitive or CMOS sensor.
1.This optical sensor scan the fingerprint by using a digital camera

2.Ultrasound fingerprint sensor use capacitor and current to form an image of

the fingerprint.

3.Thermal sensors sense the temperature differences on the contact surface, in

between fingerprint ridges and valleys.

4.CMOS sensor use capacitor and current to form an image of the fingerprint.
Fingerprint sensor has 4 parts

1.Digital Signal Processing

2.lcd
3.fingerprint scanner
4.micro controller

Digital Signal Processing (dsp) It is an IC which analyze the digital signals

with accurate and efficient way.

Micro controllers behaves as the controlling unit of the total system.

Fingerprint module to take the fingerprint of finger as an input. And finally
lcd to display the relevant output or results.

In this project we have used optical finger print sensor and when comparing to
the other fingerprint sensors it is less cost and which is connected to Arduino
and the Arduino is programmed and it is scanned with fingerprints of owner. If
any wrong fingerprint is scanned by fingerprint sensor the owner will get the
message and location of the car.

Servo Motor

We can push or rotate a substance using the servo motor with great precision. A
servo motor can rotate an object at specific angles and with specific speed.
Servo Motor made from simple motor which run through servo Mechanism. If
motor employed is DC powered then it's called DC servo motor, and is as with
AC Servo Motor. High torque servo motor can be acquired with in a small and
lightweight weight package. Considering these features they're getting used in
many industries like toy cars, RC helicopters and planes, Robotics, Machine etc.

These are measured in kg/cm most hobby servo motors are rated at 3kg/cm or
6kg/cm or 12kg/cm. This kg/cm tells you ways much weight your servo motor
can lift at a specific distance. For example: A 6kg/cm Servo motor should be
ready to lift 6kg if the load is suspended 1cm faraway from the motors shaft, the
greater the space the lesser the weight carrying capacity.

servo motor’s position is set by electrical pulse and its circuitry is placed beside
the motor.

Servo Mechanism It consists of three parts:

1. Controlled device

2. Output sensor

3. Feedback system

It is a closed-loop system. where regeneration system is used to regulate motion

and final position of the shaft. The device is controlled by a feedback signal
generated by comparing output and reference input .

Input is compared to reference output and therefore the third signal is produced
by feedback system. And this third signal acts as input to regulate device. This
signal is present as long as feedback signal is generated or there's difference
between reference input and reference output . Main task of servomechanism is
to take care of output of a system at desired value.

Working principle of Servo Motors

A servo consists of a Motor (DC or AC), a potentiometer, gear assembly and a

controlling . we use gear assembly to scale back RPM and to extend torque of
motor. Say at initial position of servo motor shaft, the position of the
potentiometer knob is such there's no electrical signal generated at the output
port of the potentiometer. Now an electrical signal is given to a different input
terminal of the error detector amplifier. Now difference between these two
signals, one comes from potentiometer and another comes from other source,
are going to be processed in feedback mechanism and output are going to be
provided in term of error signal. This error signal acts because the input for
motor and motor starts rotating. Now motor shaft is connected with
potentiometer and as motor rotates therefore the potentiometer and it'll generate
a sign . So because the potentiometer’s position changes, its output feedback
signal changes. After sometime the position of potentiometer reaches at an
edge that the output of potentiometer is same as external signal provided. At
this condition, there'll be no output from the amplifier to the motor input as
there's no difference between external applied signal and therefore the signal
generated at potentiometer, and during this situation motor stops rotating.

Controlling Servo Motor:

All motors have three wires beginning of them. Out of which two are going to
be used for Supply (positive and negative) and one are going to be used for the
signal that's to be sent from the MCU. Servo motor can be easily 3 controlled
by PWM (Pulse with Modulation) which is provided by the control wires.
There is a minimum pulse, a maximum pulse and a repetition rate. Servo motor
can turn 90 degree from either direction form its neutral position.

The servo motor expects to ascertain a pulse every 20 milliseconds (ms) and
therefore the length of the heart beat will determine how far the motor turns.
For example, a 1.5ms pulse will make the motor address the 90° position, like
if pulse is shorter than 1.5ms shaft moves to 0° and if it is longer than 1.5ms
than it'll turn the servo to 180°. Servo motor works on PWM (Pulse width
modulation) principle, means its angle of rotation is controlled by the duration
of applied pulse to its Control PIN. Basically servo motor is formed from DC
motor which is controlled by a rheostat (potentiometer) and a few gears.

High speed force of DC motor is converted into torque by Gears. We know that
WORK= FORCE X DISTANCE, in DC motor Force is a smaller amount and
distance (speed) is high and in Servo, force is High and distance is a smaller
amount . Potentiometer is connected to the output shaft of the Servo, to
calculate the angle and stop the DC motor on required angle. Servo motor are
often rotated from 0 to 180 degree and can go up to 210 degree, counting on the
manufacturing. This degree of rotation are often controlled by applying the
Electrical Pulse of proper width, to its Control pin.

Servo checks the pulse in every 20 milliseconds. Pulse of 1 ms (1 millisecond)

width can rotate servo to 0 degree, 1.5ms can rotate to 90 degree and 2 more
ms can take it to 180 All servo motors work directly with your +5V supply rails
but the amount of current the motor would consume should be carefully
calculated if you are planning to use two servo motors a correct servo shield
should be designed.
Solenoid Pump:

A solenoid pump is used in our project because it is a positive displacement fuel

pump which uses a diaphragm and we can cut the fuel using the control system
in the car. This solenoid pump drive consists of spring assembly system and
electromagnet which is activated and deactivated with a series of electrical
impulses.

Working:

The solenoid pump dosing aspect is programmed how much amount of fuel
should flow when car is on or off. If the car is started using the wrong key or
wrong finger print the fuel will be stop. The pump can then dose its fuel
proportionally In this case it may be dosing fuel or gas according to correct
acidic effluent.

Operation:

This pumps are simplest types of pumps because this solenoid pumps are having
some movable parts. When the power is given to the pump, the
Electromagnetic core will move opposite to the spring to move the diaphragm in
to the discharged position When the power is removed, the diaphragm will
move back to same position.
This solenoid pump is design with Electromagnet and can’t move the
diaphragm opposite to resistant the pressure of the fuel that may cause to fail.
They can also pump opposite the dead head or back pressure when discharge is
closed.
In this vehicle theft detection system this solenoid pump plays one of the main
role. because when the car is started with wrong key or finger print sensor the
fuel will be stopped. So the car will not move more than half kilometre. so we
can find the car easily.
Limitations:

In this solenoid pump there is a limit on size of the body of pump the
solenoids are built and limit the pressure and flow rate is possible with a
solenoid pump. This type of pumps can pump up to twenty gallons/hour at
thirty pounds/square inch.

7. Description of the project:-

This is one of those Arduino projects. Using this vehicle tracking based system
user will get the spot information of the vehicle where it is present on his
mobile phone and you can follow it on Google map. To implement this system
Arduino Uno will be used as the main processing unit. The total system is
controlled by Arduino Uno. mainly this Arduino is interfaced to liquid crystal
display(LCD) used to display the longitude and the latitude. Also, it is
interfaced to GSM module and GPS module. GSM module is used to send SMS
to the registered owner of the vehicle. Once you start the vehicle it will starts
the sending location details to the owner. By using that SMS we can track the
location of the vehicle.

Nowadays every smart phone has Google Maps application pre-installed. So the
message will be opens in the Google Maps app. By using GPS module system it
sends the locality of vehicle continuously to the vehicle owner where vehicle is
placed. Using the google maps we can watch the places around the vehicle and
also we can watch the road on that map which we will open.

8. Scope of the project:-

Now a days , security has been a major problem for us. So this project makes us
easy to detect and track our vehicle if it was lost. This kind of Project need to be
used in the tracking cabs and taxis, stolen vehicles and school buses.

An automobile airbag system can also be integrated to this system. When the
airbags has been opened then our system will send a automatic message to the
Ambulance or hospital. So it can save lives when the accident occurs.
We can also implement a feature called face detection to open the car door.
Now a days humans are searching for their comfort, Why they will place a
finger to open the door if it has a facility to detect the faces and unlock the door.

Every family needs a vehicle for their transportation needs and this was a big
dream for the middle and lower class families, they save money for the vehicle
and buys it, hat if someone stoles the vehicle , so spending thousands for our
system is so better than loosing their vehicle. And if we develop and implement
this it can get a huge profits to the company also. So the future people will be
having a highly securable vehicles.

And we can implement internet facility to receive information about the car
instead of GSM by using internet.

We can also implement alarm facility in the vehicle and we can give
information of the vehicle and if the alarm has set to off owner can be informed.

9. Conclusion:-

Vehicle theft detection is a system for tracking theft vehicles by using GSM and
GPS. This proposed project is mainly used for security purpose. The main part
of this project is using of fingerprint sensor. By using this device we can find
our lost vehicle by seeing our phones and we can find through the location send
by this device. It sends the immediate information once it is theft to our mobile
phone.

To keep our vehicle safe from unknown person. We have designed a project to
detects whenever unknown person taking away..In this project ,The way of
method is locking system and vehicle tracking is used to track the theft vehicle
by using GSM and GPS technology. It will in two modes:
1.Acttive Mode 2.Sleeping Mode .
When authorized person ,it is in sleeping mode.Otherwise Active Mode.Active
Mode is main operating mode in this working model.

Wehave designed project with the help of Arduino .In addition,we have also
used different components with that to design a complete project.Arduino Board
control all other components with the help of arduino board program.

The high security can be achieved from this project. Finger print sensor is
main functioning operator. Finger print sensor accept the owner finger to get
start the vehicle. It is useful in unknown person keep finger to start the vehicle. It
is compulsory to finger print to start vehicle. After two or three wrong attempts
of finger it will send a message to owner about some unknown peroson taking
your vehicle.Global systems for mobile communicatins(GSM).Gsm module
send message to concerned number .Solenoid pump mediator to pump fuel into
engine.Whenever there was wrong finger attempts then it will stop pumping a
fuel into engine. This is main functioning of the project do not get start vehicle
by unknown perosn .After detecting a true finger of owner again solenoid pump
fuel into the engine to get start vehicle.Global Positioning System tracks the
location of vehicle .GPS location display in Lcd.

It is very comfortable working model to design.Lcd display messages

according to working project.Like, display message "Engine stop".In this way
vehicle theft can be stopped .The simple design our working model.
