Java Applet Workaround for “JRE-6u 12-

windows-i586-s.exe” and higher

When performing a Load/Save function on a platform device, the Web Interface should
temporarily “grey-out” and a “Please Wait” progress box should appear (as seen in
Figure 1).

If it does not appear the following steps must be performed to enable a proper
“Load/Save”

Steps:

1.) On you PC, navigate to the Control Panel. Double-click the Java icon (See figure
2) to open the Java Console.

2.) In the Java Console, navigate to the “Advanced” tab.

3.) On the advanced tab expand the selection for “Java Plug-in” and Uncheck the
option for “Enable the next-generation Java Plug-in” (See Figure 3).

4.) Click the “OK” button to save the changes. You will need to close any currently
open browser windows for the changes to be made active.

The Load/Save functions of the Hirschmann switch interface should now work properly.

NOTE: This bug also affects HTTP firmware updates.
