RI-EZLUBE CENTRAL LUBRICATING SYSTEM

TROUBLE SHOOTING CHART

SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSE(S) CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Lubricant pressure gauge indicates low or no 1a. Pressure relief valve needs to be adjusted. 1a. Turn pressure valve handle clockwise.
fluid pressure.
1b. Defective gauge. 1b. Replace gauge.

1c. Defective pump. 1c. Replace pump.

2. Lubricant pressure is too high. 2a. Pressure relief valve needs to be adjusted. 2a. Turn pressure valve handle counter clockwise.

2b. Debris caught in pressure relief valve. 2b. Remove pressure relief valve, dismantle and clear debris.
3. Lubricant pressure is adequate and solenoid 3a. Ejection tube is stopped up. 3a. Cut 1/8” off end of tube. If it still doesn’t fire, remove tube set – clean
valve fires, but no lube is ejected. and replace.

3b. Reservoir has been filled with incorrect high 3b. Empty oil reservoir and refill with the appropriate K-M blend. Viscosity
viscosity oil. must be 60 SUS or lower to pump through system.
4. Excessive lubricant dripping at lubricating 4a. Misalignment of ejector tubes. 4a. Realign ejector tubes.
station.
4b. Pump pressure too low. 4b. Turn pressure valve handle clockwise.
5. Lubricant dripping from conveyor track away 5a. Application too frequent. 5a. Reduce frequency of application by adding revolutions skipped (see
from lubricating station, particularly at elevation “Operating Instructions” section of the user manual).
changes.
5b. Application amount too high. 5b. Reduce the amount of application by lowering the lube timer (see
“Operating Instructions” section of the user manual).
6. Unit is powered, but motor will not run and 6a. Lubricant reservoir is empty (a “tank empty” 6a. Fill reservoir with the appropriate K-M lubricant.
lubricating station is not ejecting lubricant. message will flash across the user interface).

6b. PLC is in “STOP” mode. 6b. Place the PLC “RUN” switch in the left hand “RUN” position and cycle the
main power (switch is located on the top side of the PLC and to the left of
the communication cable).

6c. Photo switch lens is dirty. 6c. Clean switch lens with a soft cloth.

6d. Proximity switch too far from target. 6d. Adjust switch position to within 8mm of target.

6e. Photo / proximity switch is defective. 6e. Check PLC inputs X0 – X3 LED indicators and see if they are receiving
inputs. If not, replace defective switch.

6f. The 24VDC fuse is blown. 6f. Replace with a 1-amp glass fuse.

6g. Defective 24VDC power supply. 6g. Replace power supply. Contact customer service at
customerservice@kmlube.com for information.
7. Nothing works. 7a. Main fuse is blown. 7a. Replace with a 15-amp ceramic time delay fuse.

7b. Loss of line voltage. 7b. Use a meter to check receptacle, and if there is incorrect or no voltage,
have electrician correct the supply issue.
