Group members: Irfan Khan 570, Nouman Afaq 546, Zain Abbas 587, Shaheer Khuram 420.

Problem Statement
The problem of horizontal sprawl, which refers to the uncontrolled expansion of urban areas into agricultural
land, has become a major concern for many regions around the world. This phenomenon results in the loss of
valuable agricultural land, which is critical for food production and contributes to the economy of the region.
Moreover, horizontal sprawl also leads to the fragmentation of habitats and ecosystems, increased traffic
congestion, higher energy consumption, and increased pollution levels. Therefore, a shift towards verticality is
essential to protect agricultural land, promote sustainable development, and ensure the long term
environmental sustainability of the area. The benefits of verticality in architecture are not limited to
residential development but can also be applied to commercial, hospitality, and recreational spaces. By
incorporating efficient land use and sustainable design principles, vertical development can create vibrant and
livable communities that are environmentally sustainable and economically viable.
