Fact Checking (FC 1)

This video was shared on social media, and it included Pen Medina, a well-known Filipino
actor, as well as a number of organizations spreading bogus news to the general public. It's a
realization that the COVID 19 virus isn't real. He believes that the epidemic is only a fear tactic.
He even stated that when going outside, he does not follow safety measures such as donning a face
mask or face shield. They, together with religious organizations, place a greater emphasis on God
than on the virus outbreak.
The video contains fake news, which is material that is incorrect or deceptive and is
presented as news. When I first saw it, I couldn't believe it since there had been so many cases in
the Philippines, and so many people have died and are still sick. As of October 19, 2021, the
Philippines had confirmed 2,698.23 cases. I observe individuals following the safety routine both
outdoors and within their own homes on a regular basis. Based on my own experience, I always
use face masks and face shields while I am outside, and as soon as I get home, I immediately go
to the shower to take a bath to ensure that I do not infect my family. According to my study, the
virus is spreading not just in the Philippines, but also in other nations, including the United States.
According to my study, the viral epidemic is not only in the Philippines, but also in other nations,
and we have all been affected by the pandemic.
I believe in this epidemic and want everyone to be protected, therefore I'm trying to
persuade others who don't believe in it Coronaviruses are a wide family of viruses that cause a
variety of illnesses, ranging from the common cold to more dangerous diseases like MERS-CoV
and SARS-CoV, and they were first discovered in Wuhan, China (DOH, 2021). This month, there
have been 240,631,670 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including fatalities, according to the World
Health Organization (2021). Hundreds of hospitals in the Philippines are nearing capacity due to
an increase in viral infections. To prevent the virus from spreading, the Philippines' president
ordered a state of disaster and a lockdown.
The first thing I feel I need to do to assist stop the spread of false news is to learn about
COVID 19 so that I can recognize bogus news on social media. Calling out fake news on social
media is also a wonderful way to alert not just the people who are seeing it, but also the person
who posted it. Making them informed has an impact on their life and can assist them in adjusting
to the circumstance. Sharing news from official news page can help people become informative
and updated in our situation. Reporting fake news that are posted in social media is also a must so
that it will be taken down and not victimize many people. As a student, I believe that small acts of
kindness may still benefit others, therefore I strive to assist others in the hopes that my assistance
would save them.
