Subject: Urgent Appeal: Legal Internship and Relieving Mental Harassment
and discouragement by Administration.
Dear Chairman Sir, I hope this email finds you in good health. We are the students of 5th year, School of law at Mody University, and We wish to bring a pressing matter to your kind attention that concerns both our academic and professional future. When we embarked on our academic journey at Mody University in 2019, it was informed us and a Course Curriculum was provided by the department and as per that curriculum Final Year students have a compulsory internship program for the period of 2.5-month internship to gain practical exposure of Law at Supreme Court, as well as High Courts etc. And the the result of that internship program our seniors are doing good work in the practical filed of law that cannot be understandable without practical knowledge. This internship was described as a cornerstone of our education, with the potential to open doors to placements and career opportunities. Regrettably, our current Administration so called Dean in-charge Dr. Preeti Gupta has with prejudice intentionally denied us the opportunity to pursue this internship, even we have humbly requested her not to do so. Sir, Dr. Gupta is trying to experiment with us like toys without any strong back- up Plan or experience of administration which will result that our future will be ruined and that is not acceptable even by us, our parents and simultaneously by Hon’ble Supreme Court. Her acts are not in the benefit of students as well as of University and has caused profound distress, fear and uncertainty among the student body. Some of us have taken loans to finance our education, making the prospect of securing jobs post- graduation of utmost importance. Given the uncertain job market and the fact that the Career Development Center (CDC) cannot guarantee 100% placements, the assessment internship becomes a critical pathway for us to obtain Pre- Placement Offers (PPOs) and secure our future careers. Moreover, as a COVID batch, we have been deprived of practical exposure in the field of law. The internship would bridge this gap by providing us with hands-on experience, which is essential for a well-rounded legal education. In addition to the internships importance for our career prospects and practical exposure, there are compelling reasons why it is indispensable for last-year law students: 1.Real-World Application: The internship offers the opportunity to apply theoretical legal knowledge in practical settings, preparing us for the challenges of legal practice. 2.Networking and Industry Connections: It allows us to establish valuable connections within the legal profession, increasing our chances of securing job offers and long-term career advancement. 3. Skill Enhancement: The internship helps us refine our legal skills, including legal research, drafting, advocacy, and client interaction, making us more competent and competitive in the job market. 4. Career Preparedness: It plays a pivotal role in securing PPOs, thus ensuring a smoother transition from academics to the workforce, which is especially crucial in the current job climate. Lastly, the overwhelming academic pressure and mental torture and discouragement we are experiencing has led some of our peers to resort to medication to cope with stress, which is deeply concerning. This persistent academic pressure is affecting our mental and emotional well-being, and we believe it constitutes a form of mental distress that needs to be addressed urgently. If no action is done, all proper legal avenues remains open. Sir, our representation was made before Dr. Gupta but Her attitude was not acceptable when you are sitting on a responsible Chair, we also made our representation before other Higher authorities of Mody University but we received nothing than humiliation. At the end We humbly request you to intervene this matter to protect our future and to ensure the commitment that was made to us during our admission regarding the assessment internship is upheld. We seek your support in facilitating the internship, and We request you kindly arrange an urgent meeting between you and our representation in person or any online platform or any relevant university officials to discuss these issues and explore ways to address them. Your guidance and intervention are crucial to ensuring a fair and supportive academic environment not only for our academic and professional growth but also for the preservation of our mental and emotional well-being. We appreciate your swift attention to this pressing issue and look forward to a resolution that alleviates our academic and emotional burdens. Dear Sir, at the end we are also requesting you that there are a lot of unusual things are happening in our department those cannot be disclosed by us through this mail but those are not beneficial for the University and must by looked into by you for the benefit of our University.
Regards, Students-5th year, School Of Law Mody University
