Rules & Guidelines for conducting Lab-Work
 Students are not allowed, to do other activity in the laboratory area until you are
instructed by Teacher or Technician.
 Before starting Laboratory work follow all written and verbal instructions carefully. If
you do not understand a direction or part of a procedure, ask your Concern Teacher
Before Proceeding with the Activity
 Before use mini drafter must be read carefully Labels and instructions. Set up and use
the equipment as directed by your teacher.
 If you do not understand how to use a piece of equipment, ASK THE TEACHER
FOR HELP!
 Perform only those experiments authorized by your teacher. Carefully follow all
instructions, both written and oral.
 Unauthorized experiments are not allowed in the Laboratory.
 Students are not allowed to work in Laboratory alone or without presence of the
teacher.

EXPERIMENT 1

INTRODUCTION OF DESIGN ENVIRONMENT OF CAD SYSTEM

Aim: To get Introduction of basic CAD environment and different kind of sketching
command using for part modelling.

Procedure:

1. Open CAD software >Find New Modelling>Set Directory>ok


2. Select Plane for Drawing XY or XZ or YZ
3. select line command from sketcher tab
4. Select Circle command
5. Select Dimensioning option for dimension

INTRODUCTION OF DIFFERENT KIND OF 3-D MODELING CREATING


COMMAND

Aim: To get idea about the different command to create 3D modelling in CAD software.

Procedure:

1. Draw 2D drawing of top view

2. Extrude the rectangle as per given drawing

3. Select top face and draw 2D rectangle as per given Dimension

4. Extrude the rectangle as per given drawing

5. use Revolve command for 2nd model

INTRODUCTION OF DIFFERENT KIND OF 3-D MODELLING OPERATIONAL


COMMAND

Aim: To get idea about the Boolean operation and Chafer and fillet in Cad software.

Procedure:

1. Draw 2D drawing of top view

2. Extrude the drawing as per given dimension

3. Use subtract Boolean operation to create slots and hole

4. Select fillet option for creating rounding corner.

Results:

INTRODUCTION OF PART DRAFTING IN CAD SYSTEM

Aim: Learn how to drafting of part in CAD software.

Procedure:

1. Draw 2D drawing of top view


2. Extrude the drawing as per given dimension
3. Use subtract Boolean operation to create slots and hole
4. Select fillet option for creating rounding corner.

EXPERIMENT NO 5

CREATE DESIGNING, DRAFTING AND ASSEMBLY OF NUT-BOLT


ARRANGEMENT

Aim: To learn different kind of part modelling command and geometric constrain and
simulation of assembly.

D=20mm

Procedure:

1. Draw 2D drawing of top view ( hexagon and circle )

2. Extrude the drawing as per given dimension

3. Use Thread command to cut the thread on bolt

4. Repeat same procedure for nut

5. Now assemble all the parts and simulate the assembly

CREATE DESIGNING, DRAFTING AND ASSEMBLY OF UNIVERSAL COUPLING


ARRANGEMENT

Aim: To learn different type of drawing and drafting feature.

Procedure:

1. Draw 2D drawing of top view


2. Extrude the drawing as per given dimension
3. Use subtract Boolean operation to create slots and hole
4. Select fillet option for creating rounding corner.
5. Now assemble all the parts and simulate the assembly

EXPERIMENT NO 7

DESIGN A PART AND FIND NC CODE AND OPERATIONAL TIME FOR CAVITY
MILLING

Aim: Learn how to find tool path and NC code by using CAM software.

Procedure:

1. Draw a block
2. Select top face of block and draw 2 diagram
3. Extrude and subtract the cavity from block
4. Go to manufacturing and create geometry
5. Create tool
6. Start program and save the NC code

DESIGN A PART AND FIND NC CODE AND OPERATIONAL TIME FOR SIMPLE
LATH OPERATION

Aim: To learn how to perform lath operation in CAM software.

Procedure:

1. Draw 2D drawing of top view


2. Extrude the drawing as per given dimension
3. Go to manufacturing and create geometry
4. Create tool
5. Start program and save the NC code
