I think that his judgments are well formed as he explains that the avant-garde and the

kitsch are both made from different perspectives of art. The avant-garde was good for taking the
norms of the societal views on what they believed art was supposed to look like and the artists
modernized it into their version of complexity and emotion. The kitsch simplified it into
conceptual views of the wider audience to make more profit from this simplified taste. One was
for the process of the art while the other was for the effect in a boarder viewpoint.

Rather than creating a model to be cast or completed by others, which is far more
typical, Brancusi's works employed abstract forms and direct carving, a method of sculpting that
involves working directly with the material. This approach was more in line with the avant-garde
of Paris. The result of his movement was "truly original modern sculpture." His work inspired
others to view art as a more sophisticated concept.

The Dichotomy that originated back then i don't believe applies today as our traditional
art forms have pushed beyond expectations and the popular art used nowadays ranges are so
wide. Even tho I believe artists are constantly pushing the boundaries of the foundations of art,
art now is more regarder with multimedia which differs from older art forms.
