Because the group of forests is strategic in the global arena?

The countries of the world have presented to the COP21 in


Paris his INDCs (Intended Nationally Determined
Contributions) expected contributions nationally determined
which establishes the amount of emissions of greenhouse
gases to be reduced from 2020 countries and the actions
carried out to strengthen the resilience in the weather.

The forestry sector is an appropriate mechanism to facilitate


compliance with emissions reduction targets of the countries,
through forest NAMAs (Nationally Appropriate Mitigation
Action).

Main Objective

Make the activities undertaken by financial institutions for the revitalization and growth of forestry
sector and forest conservation, through the exchange of experiences, generate synergies, economy and
efficiency in the management focused on the implementation of the green economy regional and
global levels.

Specific Objetives

1. Exchange knowledge, experiences and lessons learned in financing the forestry and forest conservation.
2. Construction of joint mechanisms and market-based instruments to change consumer preferences and encourage green
innovation financing and the forestry sector.
3. Generating a pattern proposed scheme for forestry projects that integrate different forest products and services to
facilitate their financing.
4. Evaluation and systematization of good practices for environmental and social assessment and monitoring of forest
financial operations, including investment in skills development and training.
5. Development of new financial products and mechanisms for reducing financial risk for the development of forestry to
reduce investment in areas that deplete natural capital.
6. Promotion of governance mechanisms to foster the development of the forestry sector, including support for the
establishment of sound regulatory frameworks economies with social inclusion.

Strategy

Systematizing the lessons learned on the forestry sector as an


economic activity and self-preservation of forests through
various mechanisms, aims to shorten the learning curve on
the sector, as well as training to strengthen the technical,
administrative and financial capacity to consolidate the
sector as a strong transverse opportunity for change in the
rural environment, productive primary sector including
forestry industry.
