HUMAN RESOURCES SCENARIO AND ORGANIZATION

Case study
LIDL

Wilbert Hiciano
1. Based on the information referred to by LIDL, as well as what has been
studied in the e-book, what are the main elements that characterize the
Human Resources management of this company? You can organize your
answer based on three axes: People Recruitment Policy, People Development
Policy and Motivation Policy.

Recruitment policy.

In relation to the recruitment policy we can note that the selection process includes
all the steps, good advertising offering job opportunities and a clear understanding
of the job descriptions and qualifications that this case are fundamental for the
selection of the right candidate. It is important to carefully invest time in the
recruitment and selection process as it can make the difference between a good or
bad hiring decision.

People Development Policy

The training policies implemented in an organization respond to strategic needs, by
virtue of which the company acquires greater versatility and capacity to meet the
demands of growth. From a tactical point of view, training policies help to
substantially increase employee performance by increasing their degree of
professionalization and specialization.

The offer provides the opportunity for professional development with job skills
training through to the cultivation of jobs that demonstrate leadership potential.
Motivation Policies
The incentive or financial motivation policies implemented by companies are linked
to the compensation systems established. Let's remember that the objectives
linked to the HR area are to attract, develop, retain and motivate.
The company has the ability to attract superbly qualified candidates through the
ability to pay competitive salaries and offer attractive benefits.

2. Looking at the description of the job offer (extracted from their website)
that you will find at the end of the document, from your perspective,
contemplate and explain whether the job offer contains the three
characteristics that should be included in any recruitment process -
idiosyncratic, organization-specific, universal-. Justify your answer by
indicating where in the offer each of these characteristics is illustrated.

When analyzing the job offer and regarding the characteristics that must be
considered in a selection process, we notice that they must be visualized in the job
offer, for example in the section "Your profile" we can notice that the idiosyncratic
characteristics are reflected in the relationship between the candidate's personality
and his or her knowledge.

In the first paragraph we can highlight that the company's culture is a competitive
and dynamic culture, so we can see reflected in this paragraph the specific
characteristics of the organization. In the second paragraph we can find the year of
foundation of the company, the business model and the hierarchical dependence of
the company showing the universal characteristics.

3. One of the references that the company itself makes on its website is to indicate that
it has the TOP EMPLOYER SPAIN 2021, TOP EMPLOYER EUROPE 2021 seals. In
your opinion, does it add value to the organization and the way in which its Human
Resources are developed to have this type of seals or certifications? And the workers
themselves?

I believe that awarding companies with this seal adds value to the organization and
to the workers, because it indicates that the company is having good practices in
human resources management and that it is having good employee training plans,
creating its own leaders, offering attractive compensation and benefits programs
and betting on the diversity of the work teams.
