How to reset the television to the original factory settings.

WARNING FOR LCD AND PLASMA TELEVISIONS: This procedure will reset the video calibration
settings of the TV. If you paid to have your TV screen specially calibrated, you may want to first try
performing a power reset instead. Otherwise, any special calibration settings will be lost.

1. Turn on the TV.

2. Wait approximately 40 seconds for the TV to completely start up.

3. On the TV remote control, press and hold the UP ARROW button.

4. While holding the UP ARROW button, press and release the POWER button on the TV set.

NOTES:

o The button may be on the front, top or side of the TV. Newer model Sony TV have a
Master Power or Energy Saving switch on the side or back of the TV.

o The TV may turn off and then back on.


5. Release the UP ARROW button.

Additional reset steps are available if you have a TV that was manufactured after 2012 and the above steps do
not work.

IMPORTANT: If the procedure did not reset the TV to the factory default settings, perform a power reset

How to perform a power reset on a Sony® television.

1. Turn off the television.

IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after
turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following
steps.

2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.

3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.

4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.


NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power
strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem
is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.

5. Turn on the television.
