National Health Authority (NHA) launched India’s
first Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM)
microsite in Aizawl, the capital city of Mizoram.
With this, Mizoram became the 1st state in India to
operationalise ABDM microsite project.Mizoram
has appointed Youth for Action as the Interfacing
Agency for implementing the ABDM Microsite in
Aizawl.
MoD Sets Up a 9-Member Committee to
Review and Re-define DRDO
Union Minister Rajnath Singh, Ministry of Defence
(MoD) has set up a 9-member committee of
experts to maintain the Defence Research and
Development Organization (DRDO). The
committee will be headed by Prof. K Vijay
Raghavan, former Principal Scientific Advisor,
Government of India (GoI).
• The 9-member committee has been
tasked with the mission to review and
redefine the role of various departments
within DRDO and submit a report within 3
months.

DAC Approves Proposals worth R.7,800 cr
to Enhance Operational Capabilities of
Indian Armed Forces
Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) meeting
chaired by the Union Defence Minister, Rajnath
Singh, granted Acceptance of Necessity (AoN)
for capital acquisition proposals worth around Rs
7,800 crore, to enhance the operational
capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces. DAC
granted AoN for the procurement and installation
of an Electronic Warfare (EW) Suite on Mi-17 V5
Military/Transport Helicopters, which will enhance
better survivability of Helicopters.
✓ The EW Suite will be procured from Bharat
Electronics Limited (BEL), under the
Ministry of Defence(MoD),because these
will be made under the Buy Indian-IDDM
(Indigenously Designed, Developed, and
Manufactured) category.
NRL and IWAI signs MoU for export of
Petroleum Cargo via NW 2 & IBPR
Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), a
Category-I Miniratna Central Public Sector
Enterprise (CPSE) and Numaligarh Refinery
Limited (NRL) in Guwahati, Assam made an MoU
to use National Waterways (NW)-2 (Brahmaputra)
and Indo Bangladesh Protocol Route (IBPR) for
export of petroleum products to Bangladesh and
other south East Asian countries. The petroleum

Philippine Coast Guard’s official visit to

MoD Signs to Acquire Five Indigenously Built
FSS from HSL Worthing 19,000 Crore
Approved by the Cabinet Committee on Security,
The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with
Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), Visakhapatnam
(Andhra Pradesh) for the acquisition of five
indigenously built Fleet Support Ships (FSS) for the
Indian Navy worth 19,000 crore (approximately).
✓ The FSS will be built with a length of 225
metres and a width of 32 metres and will
have a displacement of 44,000 tonnes.

Toyota Innova Hycross.It is a variant of Toyota’s
Innova, developed by Toyota Kirloskar Motor
Private Limited(Toyota Kirloskar).
✓ This is also India’s first flex-fuel electrified
vehicle that can run in either electric mode
or 100% ethanol.

RBI approves the Voluntary amalgamation

The Reserve Bank of India(RBI) sanctioned the
Scheme of Voluntary Amalgamation of Hyderabad
(Telangana) based Twin Cities Co-operative Urban
Bank Limited with Hyderabad (Telangana) based
Kranti Co-operative Urban Bank Limited. RBI has
the authority to approve the voluntary
amalgamation of Urban Cooperative Banks
(UCBs) based on its discretion.
✓ This authority is granted under Sub-Section
(4) of Section 44A read with Section 56 of
the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.
✓ These sections were modified through an
amendment introduced by the Banking
Regulation (Amendment) Act 2020 (Act
No. 39 of 2020). The Amalgamation was
based on comprehensive framework
notification of RBI released in 2021, named
Master Direction – Amalgamation of Urban
Cooperative Banks, Directions, 2020.

RBI Raises Small Value Payment
Transaction Limit in Offline Mode to Rs 500
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) increased the upper
limit for offline transactions to Rs.500 from Rs 200
w.e.f. August 24, 2023, following its
announcement during the bi-monthly policy review
on August 10, 2023.
However, overall limit is retained at Rs.2000 to
contain the risks associated with relaxation of
two-factor authentication.
✓ The information for the same was provided
by RBI under Section 10 (2) read with
Section 18 of the Payment and Settlement
Systems Act, 2007 (Act 51 of 2007)/PSS
Act.
IRDAI Approves Amendments to
Reinsurance Regulations
Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority
of India (IRDAI), during its 123rd Authority Meeting,
approved amendments to Reinsurance
Regulations to enhance the business environment,
and to attract more reinsurers to set up operations
in India.
✓ These amendments streamline the existing
regulations for all insurance market
participants including Indian insurers,
Indian reinsurers, Foreign Reinsurance
Branches (FRBs), and International
Financial Services Centre(IFSC) Insurance
Offices (IIOs).
✓ The amendments include a reduction of
the minimum capital requirement for FRBs
from Rs 100 Crore to Rs 50 Crore, with the
provision to repatriate any excess assigned
capital.

Innovation-led Green Hydrogen Initiatives
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay,

Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH(DFL) to develop the
football ecosystem in India. The agreement
focuses on advancing football expertise and

Rao Passed Away
Renowned Indian-American Statistician and
mathematician Calyampudi Radhakrishna Rao
(CR Rao) passed away at the age of 102 in Buffalo,
New York, the United States of America(USA).
C.R. Rao was born on 10 September 1920 in
Huvanna Hadagali, Bellary district, Karnataka.

Tamil Nadu (TN) Chief Minister (CM), MK Stalin
inaugurated the expansion of the state
governments’ free breakfast scheme to all state-

scheme, TN has now become the first state in
India to provide free breakfast to students in all

Mati Mera Desh‘campaign in Gandhinagar,
Gujarat.Panchayati Raj institutions & local self-
governed bodies will be handling their financial
transactions worth Rs 34,000 crore in PRAISA to
increase transparency.

launched a portal (evanlekh.eforest.delhi.gov.in)

Geographic Information System (GIS) platform, it
helps to visualize data effectively, and also, users
can generate KML (Keyhole Markup Language)
files on the portal.
KML files are a type of XML (eXtensible Markup
Language) file format used to display geographic
data in an Earth browser, such as Google Earth or
Google Maps.
