Introduction

License Terms
By installing the software, you accept the following terms:

Ownership of and all other rights to the software are retained by Ergoline
GmbH. You are not entitled to transfer the software to another computer
via network or data channel. The program and the accompanying prod-
uct documentation shall not be modified, copied or, in an altered version,
merged with other software and made accessible to third parties.
The licensee is liable to the licenser for any damage arising from the breach
of the copyright or infringement of the conditions of this agreement.

System Requirements
Operating system: Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8, 10
Either 1 USB interface or 1 serial interface for
connection of the ergometer.

1 Starting the Program


Start the program by double-clicking
the application file ErgolineSer-
vice1.5.6.exe.

The start screen will be displayed:

1.1 Interface Test


From the Serial Port drop-down menu,
select the interface where the ergo­
meter is connected to the PC.

Click the R button (Refresh) to update


the COM port list of the software
registry.

In the Baudrate drop-down menu, se-


lect the rate for the data transfer.

Click the Connect button to connect


to the ergometer.

The progress bar to the right of the


baud rate indicates the status while
the connection to the ergometer is
being established.

In the Send Command area, there are


six buttons whose functions will be ex-
plained below.

Send Command „I“


• Ergometer version
The ergometer sends an ID string.

Send Command „S“


• Start with blood pressure measure-
ment

Send Command „s“


• Start without blood pressure mea-
surement

Send Command „W100“


• Set load (target value)
A load of 100 W (watts) is set at the
ergometer.

Send Command „D“


• Request RPM (speed)
The ergometer sends the current RPM
value.

Send Command „F“


• Stop
The training is stopped.

Special Command
• Manual input of commands
All valid commands of the Ergoline
interface protocol can be entered in
the Special Command command line.
By clicking the Send button, you send
these commands to the ergometer.

Clear
• Remove text from text field
By clicking the Clear button, you
delete the text in the text field.

1.2 Ergometer State


By clicking the Ergometer state tab,
you retrieve and display all ergometer
parameters.

This screen presents the following


information:

In the “Softwarestand” pane:


• Module: name of the board or mod-
ule.
• Firmware: indicates the firmware
revision of each module.
• Bootloader: indicates the boot­
loader revision of each module.
• X-Cut: indicates the development
status of each module.
• Serial-no: indicates the serial num-
ber of the installed board.

In the System configuration pane:


• Configuration: indicates the com-
ponents installed in the ergometer.
• State (Status): indicates the current
status of each component.
Enabled = module active, Disabled
= module inactive. The “Disabled”
label is also used for modules not
installed in the ergometer. It is not
possible to activate modules, but
they can be deactivated.

By clicking the Print button, you print


the system configuration; with Save,
you can save it as a file.

1.3 Error Log


By clicking the Error log tab, you dis-
play the screen shown at right.

This screen presents the following


information:

In the “Softwarestand” pane:


• Source: name of the module report-
ing the error.
• First Date: date of the first occur-
rence of the error.
• First Time: time of the first occur-
rence of the error.
• Quantity: number of errors that
occurred since its first occurrence.
• Last Date: date of the last occur-
rence of the error.
• Last Time: time of the last occur-
rence of the error.
• Error: error number.
• Error Description: description of the
error.

In the NIBP History pane:


• Total: number of BP measurements
performed since the ergometer was
started.
• Level 5 to Level 1: indicates the
signal strength of the blood pressure
measurements (Level 5 = best quali-
ty, Level 1 = poorest quality).
• False: number of failed BP mea-
surements since the ergometer was
started.

By clicking the Clear Error Log or the


Clear NIBP Log button, you delete all
entries in the corresponding panes.

By clicking the Print or Save button,


you print the software revision and the
NIBP history, or you save them as a file.

1.4 Wireless
By clicking the Wireless tab, you dis-
play the screen shown at right.

Depending on its configuration, your


ergometer has either a Bluetooth or a
Wifi interface. The type of interface is
automatically detected and the appro-
priate panel will be enabled for inputs
and modifications.

To allow the configuration of the


modules, the Bluetooth or Wifi module
must be deactivated in the system
configuration of the ergometer. After
the configuration via the RS232 or USB
port, the module can be activated.

1.4.1 Bluetooth
These are the settings on the Blue-
tooth level:

• Name: name of the ergometer


• Channel: communication channel of
the ergometer

By clicking the Read button, you read


the stored Bluetooth configuration.

By clicking the Write button, you up-


load the current Bluetooth configura-
tion to the module where it is saved.

1.4.2 Wifi
These are the settings on the Wifi level:

• SSID: name of the WLAN network


used
The input of special characters (incl.
German umlauts and blanks) is not
permitted. A maximum of 15 alpha-
numeric characters can be entered.
• IP: IP address used within the net-
work
Observe the following pattern for
the input of numerals “n” and sepa-
rators “.”:
nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
• Gateway: address of the gateway
used
Observe the following pattern for
the input of numerals “n” and sepa-
rators “.”:
nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
• Netmask: address of the net mask
used
Observe the following pattern for
the input of numerals “n” and sepa-
rators “.”:
nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
• Encryption: encryption method
used (WEP, WPA2)
• Passphare: password of the existing
network
The input of special characters (incl.

By clicking the Read button, you read


the stored Wifi configuration.

By clicking the Write button, you


upload the current Wifi configuration
to the module where it is saved.
