You’ve already seen the news. Last weekend violent conflict broke out between Hamas and Israel.

Within hours of the conflict breaking out, mainstream media journalist and CBC pundit,
Andrew Coyne, was quick to jump on me for not issuing an immediate statement.

Yes Andrew, as a Canadian politician I remain focused on issues impacting the lives of
Canadians, not grandstanding about a conflict in which we are not involved on another
continent.

As a general rule, I decided years ago to stop making pointless social media posts sharing
“thoughts and prayers” or denunciations every time something horrible happens in another
country.

It has become nothing more than a silly race to see which politician can post something fastest
with the strongest words. It does nothing to help the actual conflict. It’s just pandering and virtue-
signalling.

Many people have been asking for my position on the conflict.

They want me to pick a side. As if this situation is black and white; but much like the conflict in
Ukraine, this is a complex geopolitical issue with decades of history, political controversy, and
violence.

OF COURSE I believe violence against innocent civilians is abhorrent, only a psychopath

would think otherwise.

But my position on this conflict is simple. We must put Canada First.

I don't want a single penny of Canadian taxpayers' money to go to support EITHER SIDE of another
foreign war that has nothing to do with us!

Furthermore, I don’t want to see any Canadian soldier or military resource sent abroad.

And I don’t want Canada to accept any refugees created by this conflict.

In 2023, Canada has enough problems. After years of governance by corrupt out-of-touch
politicians from BOTH the two major parties, Canada has become a deeply dysfunctional country.

We need to focus on solving our own problems.

Our education and healthcare systems are totally broken.

Our military is underfunded and lacks clear priorities.

Inflation is out of control and the housing crisis continues to get worse and worse.
All the while the political establishment continues to flood our country with
unsustainable levels of immigration, which only makes these problems worse.

We have so many problems to solve here in Canada, I don’t see how any honest and moral
politician could focus on issues in other countries.

How can you even consider sending even a penny abroad when so many Canadians are
suffering here at home?

And when knowing that sending money and weapons only helps prolong conflicts and get more
innocent people killed, as we are doing in Ukraine?

I’m only supporting one side.

I’m on your side. The side of Canada.
