Motivation
Present the problem to the class.
Mr. Santos bought 1 box of face masks at P 55.00 and 1liter of alcohol worth P350.00
from a drugstore. How much did he pay in all?

Ask the following questions:


1. What are the items bought by Mr. Santos?
2. Why do you think he bought face masks and alcohol? What are these things for?
3. When are you going to use face mask and alcohol? Why?
C. Analysis
Based from the problem, discuss to the pupils how to analyze the problem.
1. Guide the pupils to read again the problem and note the given data.
2. Direct them the AGONA Method.
 What is asked? Unsay gipangutana?(The amount paid by Mr. Santos)
 What are given? Unsay gihatag nga mga kasayuran?
 What is the operation to use? What is the word clue? Unsay gamiton nga operation?

How do we solve Mathematical problem?
In solving word problem, first you must read and understand it. Know the given
information. Identify the operation to use by discovering the word clues. Write the number
sentence using the data given.
Finally, solve for the final answer then label.

Group yourselves into 3 groups. A leader is assigned for your group.
