1. What is the importance of the 1987 Constitution?

The 1987 Constitution, which serves as the foundation of the government, outlines the people's
right to elect their representatives or exercise their right to vote in elections and provides
methods for determining who is eligible to run for office and be elected. This constitution's goals
are to safeguard and clarify people rights, lay down the principles upon which the government
ought to operate, and specify the procedures for passing legislation to uphold those rights.
Therefore, the constitution's relevance lies in the fact that it not only outlines the government's
authorities but also its fundamental bounds, preventing the application of laws and punishments
arbitrarily. The president's powers are granted by the constitution. They are subject to the same
constitution's limitations and revocation provisions.
The purpose of Constitution is to prescribe the permanent framework of a system of
Government.

2. If you will be given a chance to amend the constitution will you do it? yes or no? Why?

Yes, the 1987 constitution is over 36 years old, which is very outdated. It was published at a
time when individuals were still adamantly opposed to globalization in their economies. It was
written in the height of communism. The writing makes it seem as though they are still residing
in the past.
It was written in a brief amount of time. It took less than a year to complete. There are numerous
gaps in the legislation it contains. This is why corruption in the Philippines never stops because
the constitution is riddled with errors.
