Talk about Dalat

1. Where is it?
 Dalat is known as a city located in Lam Dong province of Vietnam. The city is often
referred to as the “City of Flowers” and is a popular honeymoon destination due to its
charming French villas, fresh air, waterfalls and lakes. Situated at an altitude of 1500
meters above sea level on the Lang Biang Plateau, Dalat boasts stunning mountain views.
With its year-round cool climate, visitors to Dalat can enjoy a range of activities and local
specialties including a variety of fruits. The city is also famous for its unique flowers and
orchids, attracting hundreds and thousands of visitors. Every two years, the National Flower
Festival is held in Dalat with participants from all around the world. In addition to this,
visitors can also explore other tourist attractions in Dalat such as Love Valley and Pongour
Waterfall.
There are 3 reasons why I want to go Dalat.
- The first reason is, CLIMATE
o The average temperature here is 18-21oC, with highest temperature 30°C and
lowest 5°C. Dalat also has the two season climate typical of South Vietnam,
with a monsoon season from May to October and a dry season from
November to April
- The second reason is, LOCAL FOOD:
o Dalat is known as the food bowl of Vietnam, and you can get some amazing
fruit, vegetables and exceptional coffee here. For a real Vietnamese
experience, be sure to try the local food either on the street or in more
upmarket locations plus there is a huge range of international cuisines
available
- Last but not least, THE PEOPLE is an important reason too:
o Vietnamese people are, by nature, extremely friendly and welcoming. For
example, if you are walking down the street and make eye contact, nine times
out of ten you will be greeted by a smile.
o You will find that a friendly xin chao (hello) or cam an’ (thank you) are very
much appreciated even if your pronunciation does cause few giggles!

Overall, Dalat city is a perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful vacation in a beautiful
and romantic setting. I am willing to go Dalat next summer vacation.
