Fashion and clothes

When I am at home I usually wear a tracksuit with a T-shirt because it is very

comfortable. When I go out with my friends, visit relative or just go down to
the shop I wear shirts or tops with a pair of jeans, which never goes out of
fashion. Basically, you can put on anything which you feel good in, but you
should choose clothes which reflect your personality and taste.
Many people wear formal clothes even to work, but most people dress up only
for special occasions such as weddings, graduations, theatre and opera
evenings or balls. Men usually wear a suit and a tie with a nice shirt and elegant
shoes. Women have more possibilities to choose from, but it also makes it
more difficult to find the best outfit for the occasion. They can choose from
evening dresses, suits or skirts with blouses. When they finally manage to
decide on the clothes, they have to find the matching accessories such as
shoes, handbags and jewellery.
My conviction is that you don’t have to make the most of your looks at all time.
On an average weekday I don’t make much fuss about getting dressed in the
morning. I usually put on what I first find in my wardrobe because I just wear
what I feel comfortable in. My favourite items are jeans, a T-shirt and a hoodie
or a cardigan in cold weather. Sometimes I wear a skirt to look pretty.
I don’t like formal clothes simply because I don’t feel comfortable in them.
Most of the time when I go to the special occasion I wear silk blouse with velvet
skirt and high-heeled shoes. I also have that “little black dress” that is said to be
a must for every woman. I never fail to find my small, elegant black handbag in
my wardrobe.

Nowadays I think women in their sixties and seventies dress much younger
than they used to. Some recent research says that nine out of ten women say
that they try to dress younger than they are. Well, it depends on your age of
course. A lot of teenage girls try to dress older than they are, maybe to get into
party or pubs. The most important thing is that what you wear suits you. And if
you looked good in jeans when you were 15, if you keep your figure you will
probably look good in them when you are 80. There are a few things which can
look a bit ridiculous on an older woman, like, very short shorts or short skirts.
Personally, I think what we wear says a lot about our personality. I am a
practical and easygoing person and most of the time I wear casual clothes. For
school normally I wear jeans or cords, T-shirts, sweatshirts, zipper hoodies and
trainers. I don’t really like formal clothes. I only dress up when I go to the
theatre.
I’m fashion-conscious to a certain extent, but I don’t like to look exactly like
everyone else. I don’t want to become a fashion victim, someone who always
wears fashionable clothes even if these clothes make them look silly.
I often wear black. It makes me look slimmer / fabulous. My other favourite
colour is blue. It matches my eyes. My favourite item of clothing is the pink
jumper my Grandma gave for my birthday. It’s warm, soft and has beautiful
colour.
I love shopping for new clothes, accessories and shoes. I don’t have a favourite
shop. I usually go to a shopping center where there are a lot of different shops
and boutiques. First I have a look around. If I find something I like, I try it on. If
it fits me and suits me and the prize is right, I buy it.
I sometimes buy clothes online but I think it is important to try clothes on
before buying them. You can’t be sure about the colour and the material
either. You might get disappointed when the garment you order arrives. On the
other side you don’t have to travel only you can order items from your room. In
addition, you avoid crowded stores and don’t have to waiting in long queues.
Fortunately, I have been wearing the same size of clothes for two years. I take
size 38 in jeans and size S in T-shirts.
There is nothing I enjoy more than designing my own clothes. It is cheaper than
buying new clothes and I can have clothes no one else has.
