Clothes
1. Are clothes important to you?
- Yes, they are very important as they protect us from cold, dry and hot weather.
It protects our body from germs that are present in the atmosphere and also
helps to maintain proper hygiene. It also helps to protect our body from
ultraviolet radiations which may cause skin problems.
- Clothes and fashion are very important to me primarily because it makes me
look good and feel good about myself. Besides, they are very important to me
because, in my culture, people do tend to judge others by the clothes or fashion
styles they use, and I always like to be “judged” favourably.
- Of course. It is one of human's basic necessities. Clothes protect our body from
harsh weather condition, especially when you live in a tropical country where the
weather is extremely hot, or in a country where the weather is extremely cold.
2. What kind of clothes do you usually wear?
- Well, I prefer casual clothes – simple and comfortable. A pair of jeans and a shirt
would be perfect. I am not really the fashionable type. But of course, I also dress
up for special occasions.
- I usually opt for casual wear, such as T-shirts or jeans. When I have to attend a
formal event, I'd go for the classic suit and tie. I guess my style is quite simple and
minimalist.
- I usually wear casual clothes like T-shirt and short pants, because I do most of
my work from home. I’m starting a startup company and spending most of my
time at home, building a website and a mobile app. Even if I have to leave the
house, I usually wear T-shirt and jeans. I rarely wear tormal clothes, except when I
attend formal occasion like wedding or when I meet important clients.
3. Do you ever wear the traditional clothes of your country?
- Yes, I do wear the traditional clothes of my country on special occasions such as
weddings, festivals, and cultural events. I think it’s important to preserve our
cultural heritage and show pride in our country. The traditional clothing
represents the rich history and traditions of my country, and it is a symbol of our
cultural identity. I feel proud and connected to my roots when I wear my
traditional clothes, and it is always a great conversation starter when I travel
abroad. Additionally, I think it’s a great way to educate others about my culture
and promote cultural understanding and respect.
4. Where do you usually buy your clothes?
- I often buy clothes in a mall because there are a lot varieties of clothes with
different brand, model, size and price range. Some people like buying clothes
Online but I don't think it's a good idea for me, since finding clothes of my size ís
usually hard, especially if it's done Online. I prefer buying clothes in malls or small
vendors so that I can try them first.
- I like to buy most of my clothes from the local shops in my home town mainly
because the clothes there are more affordable in comparison to some fancy
looking chain stores. Besides, I like to buy them from the local shops also because
it would help our local economy.
5. Have you ever worn a uniform?
- Yes, in Vietnam, we have to wear a uniform in primary, secondary and high
school. You even have to wear a uniform in some universities. Luckily, my
university didn’t require us to wear a uniform.
- I have when I was a teenager. This is because wearing a uniform is compulsory in
my high school. I remember I didn't particularly like the uniform as it was
extremely badly-designed and wasn't comfortable to say the least.
- Yes, I have worn a uniform before. when I was in my high school years, every
student was required to wear a uniform. The uniform was a white shirt, grey
trousers, and black shoes. It was mandatory for every student to wear the
uniform every day during school hours. Overall, I think the experience of wearing
a uniform was a positive one. It helped to instill discipline and a sense of pride in
the school, and it also helped to foster a sense of community among the students.
Describe a shop you would like to visit

There’s a clothes shop that I often visit, well not everyday, but I
do go there more than often when there are special events. I
don’t actually remember the name of the store, but it is located
somewhere near Ly Nam De street.

To give you more details about this place, I like the fabric there;
however, the inconvenient point is that I have to wash the
clothes by hand. If I don’t, the color on the fabric will fade away
and the material itself will look worn out.

About the outfits that I often buy there, the signature of this shop
is the embroidered patterns from flowers like sunflower or lotus
to animals like the dragon or sparrow. The lines are usually thin
and sophisticated, so the price is not so reasonable. For items
that I like, I always have to wait for one to two months for
discounts.
To talk about the designs, the clothes are often in large forms,
which is simple, but the patterns are what make the items
special. Some of the pants have the legs split, which looks rare
to me, so I have purchased a few pairs.
All in all, among all the clothes shops that I’ve been to, this is by
far the best place for me to buy as I can afford the items there, of
course when being discounted. I think there will be more visits
in the future.
