Patagonia as described in the article, is a company that makes little sense in the form of normal business

rational, and many people and business consultants would find that the company would go against their
advice and the standard rout to increase revenue. This is seen in the executives of the company a during
one year the CEO was worried that their company would be seen for causing overconsumption of their
goods and urged clients and buyers to spend less on them. This is because they ae a company focused
on the outdoors and maintaining them to the best they can as the company regularly donates and
invests to ensure that nature is preserved. This led to issues with the company's overall objective of
increasing revenue by ten percent over the next few years. This modern Patagonia was not all it ever
was however and in the past the business had been known as a “dirtbag” business. Chouinard who was
the head of Patagonia at the time believed that businesses were responsible for man of the world social,
economic, and political problems and so sought to distance himself and his company form the standard
idea of how businesses were run and how they should be run. For the company itself it tried to focus on
a few ironed down ideas which were quality as they were part of the high-end outdoor clothes industry,
environmental impact as well as innovation. Production and logistics of the business was difficult to
acomplish in and of itself as the company sought out buisness with a very specific target in mind and
many of thouse produces were required to have a similar idea with business ethics and understanding
their effect socially and environmentally. For marketing and distribution Patagonia spent much less than
the average apparel company to share their brand and have it be known but this was made up as the
business's environmental and social approach to business lead to a lot of media attention which worked
as free good publicity. For Patagonia, the business model follows the same green flow as the well-known
saying “reduce reuse recycle along with adding repair to ensure there in so overuse to can be solved for
fewer resources and helps to save the environment. This can all be seen and read in the article as it
states “Patagonia constantly endeavored to improve the environmental impact of its processes. The
company examined every step of its manufacturing process to focus efforts on the most important areas
in terms of environmental impact.” showing how the company while following a different business
modle with a social goal can work just as well if not better than those that follow private entures p
