Task 1.

My friend, Herbert, is reliable and easygoing. I can always count on him.Our friendship began a
long time ago, when we were teenagers, our families were neighbors, since that moment we
shared time together and experiences. In that time ,we shared expectative about our futures,
lives, studies and girls of course.Nowadays ,we are still in touch and share time with our
families, although we had taken different paths, but we maintain trust in each other.
Now that , I think in those days, I can remember the vacations when we met to watch a tv movie
or went to the cinema or the football afternoons, always learning about life.

Task 2.

This story is a part of the physics history, is about Galileo, yes, the old Galileo Galilei, the
science modern father. This story could have happened between 1589 to 1592, in the city of
Pisa and I say could, because anybody knows if Galileo really did the experiment or simply, He
wrote about it as a mental experience. However it happened, He gave us another way to think
about the world around us. But you say to me, Ok, I understood that this science event was
important for science development, but, what did Galileo do?
Ok. I’m coming. Someday after Galileo did his experiments with inclined planes, He thought
about the Archimedes explanation about how the bodies fell to the earth, and how this thing
bothered him, because the inclined planes experiments showed him that the weigth and body
mass weren’t important to bodies movement, of course its speed. In other words the mass and
weight of bodies doesn’t matter with its speed. As Galileo was an experimental man, though a
way to show. He asked a young man to climb up to the Pisa tower with two diferent cannonballs.
When he stayed on top, he dropped the balls at the same time. ¡The amazing thing was that
Archimedes was wrong!, because the cannon balls hit the ground at the same time. This little
experiment changed the way to humanity thought the nature phenomenon, and how our senses
deceive us, like say Plato and reaffirmed by Descartes.
