• US President Joe Biden signed the “Emmett Till Anti-lynching Act” into law,
as he made lynching a federal hate crime. As many as 4,743 persons were

free steel which is also known as green steel.
• Green steel has been developed by HYBRIT Technology
• ‘Wagner Group’, is a private military company in Russia.
• As per British military intelligence, 1,000 mercenaries from the ‘Wagner
Group’ are being deployed to eastern Ukraine.
• The group has been active over the past eight years in Ukraine, Syria, and
African countries. It has repeatedly been accused of war crimes and
human rights abuses.
• The Wagner Group first went into operation during Russia’s annexation of
Crimea in 2014.
• A team of astronomers led by researchers at the Center for Astrophysics-
Harvard & Smithsonian, USA has detected the most distant astronomical
object ever. The object named ‘HD1’ is a galaxy candidate 13.5 billion
light-years away. The astronomical object is extremely bright in ultraviolet
light due to some energetic processes occurring in it. HD1 forms more
than 100 stars every single year, which is 10 times higher than that of
starburst galaxies
• A new Earth-observation satellite was successfully launched by China on
Thursday, 7th April 2022, from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the
north-western part of the country. Long March-4C rocket launched
Gaofen-3 03 at 7:47 a.m. (Beijing Time) and it went into orbit as planned.
• By suspending Russia from the UN Human Rights Council, countries
around the world chose to hold Moscow to account today for gross and
systematic violations of human rights in its premeditated, unprovoked,
and unjustified war of choice against Ukraine.
• The annual military exercises between Indonesian and US armies
will include more than a dozen countries this year, officials said
on April 10, 2022, as tensions with China continue to spike in the
region. The `Garuda Shield` joint training will see militaries from
14 countries including Britain, Australia and Japan participate in
ground drills and beach-landing exercises from August 1-14 in
Indonesia`s South Sumatra archipelago and the East of Borneo
island, the Indonesian Army said.

• Ketanji Brown Jackson has been confirmed as the first African-American
woman to serve as a justice of the United States Supreme Court. On April
7, 2022, by a vote of 53-47, the U.S. Senate confirmed President Joe
Biden’s nomination of Judge Jackson to replace retiring Supreme Court
Justice Stephen Breyer, for whom she previously served as a law clerk.
Jackson will be sworn in after Breyer’s retirement takes effect at the end
of the 2021-22 Supreme Court term.
• The Security Council encouraged Egypt, Ethiopia, and Sudan to resume
negotiations, at the invitation of the African Union Chairperson, on the
Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam Project, with a view to finalizing the
text of a mutually acceptable agreement on filling and operating the dam
“within a reasonable time.
• The Australian state of Victoria will host the 2026 Commonwealth Games
across four regional hubs in a break from the traditional single-city model,
the government said on April 12, 2022. With no other countries outside
Australia making a bid, Victoria was granted an exclusive negotiating
period to secure the Games in February.
• The Philippines has been recently hit by Tropical Storm Megi and the death toll from
landslides and floods after the storm rose to 58.
• Sri Lanka’s government recently offered

headdress, and an agal. La’eeb was revealed during World Cup draw which
took place in Doha.

celebrated all over the world to emphasize the importance of art that
nurtures creativity, innovation, and cultural diversity for all people across
the globe. The day was declared by the International Association of Art

• The United States has become the first country in the world to announce a
ban on missile tests against space satellites. US Vice-President Kamala
Harris, who chairs the National Space Council, announced that the debris
created by such tests presents a risk to the safety of astronauts and
satellites. Many countries including the U.S, China, Russia, and India have
carried out such tests and generated space debris.
• China said on April 19, 2022, it had signed a security pact with the
Solomon Islands, a move set to heighten the concerns of the United States
and allies Australia and New Zealand about growing Chinese influence in a
region traditionally under theirs way. Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare
told parliament that a proposed security agreement would not include a
Chinese military base.
• Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for
environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a
wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org including 1
billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2022 is
Invest In Our Planet.
• The ‘Forbes’ 36th annual World’s Billionaires List’ of 2022 was released
recently. It listed 2,668 billionaires of the world, including 236 newcomers,
which fell from last year’s 493. Elon Musk tops the World’s Billionaires
ranking for the first time ever, with an estimated net worth of USD 219
billion. Jeff Bezos and Bernard Arnault followed Musk. This year also
marked the largest number of Billionaire Drop-offs since the 2009
Financial Crisis.
• Emmanuel Macron has won France’s presidential election, fending off a
historic challenge from far-right candidate Marine Le Pen during the 24th
April 2022 runoff vote. Macron took 58.5% of Sunday’s vote, making him
the first French leader to be reelected in 20 years. He and Le Pen
advanced to the runoff after finishing in first and second place,
respectively, among 12 candidates who ran in the first round on April 10.
• The 2022 Asian Wrestling Championships was the 35th edition of the
Asian Wrestling Championships of combined events, and took place from
April 19 to 24 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
• A Japanese woman certified the world`s oldest person has died at the age
of 119 years and 107 days on April 19, 2022. She is the oldest verified
Japanese person and the second-oldest verified person ever, after Jeanne
Calment. Kane Tanaka was born on Jan 2, 1903, in the southwestern
Fukuoka region of Japan, the same year the Wright brothers flew for the
first time and Marie Curie became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize.

• The social media giant confirmed on 25th April 2022 that the Tesla CEO
and the billionaire will acquire the company in a deal worth $44 billion.
Once the deal is complete, which is expected by this year, Twitter will
become a privately held company. Late Monday, Dorsey tweeted his
