How to connect to Open Protocol Network on CVIx2 and MultiCVIL2.

Requirements:
- The controller must have an ethernet board.
- The controller must have a firmware version >= 2.5B (CVIxII)

Procedure:
Set up the controller:
- Go in PARAMETERS --> PERIPHERALS --> ETHERNET SOCK3 and select 'OPEN PROTOCOL' in the list.
T he default port is 4545 but you can change this value if needed .

Informa tion: Registration code cannot be sent to the MultiCVIL2 using Register CVI. Please enter the code directly in
the activation code screen of the CVIL2 M.

Wha t is the pa rt numbe r for the "Ope n Protocol license"?

Once the license is activated on a controller, it cannot be moved to another controller. The license is linked to the
controller.

document.

How can I ge t connected to Open Protocol ne twork while not registe red?
You can use the trial period to try the Open Protocol communication.
Follow the instructions to activate the function and enter OPENPROT as activation code.

My trial period has e xpired, wha t can I do?


After 60 days of trial period, you won't be able to get connected anymore to the Open Protocol network.
The only way to solve this issue is to register a legal activation code.

No registra tion needed on CVI3, OpenP is included by de fault in the controlle r with all firmwa re ve rsions.
