Jefferson County Democratic Committee Endorses
Dorena Kimball for Jefferson County Treasurer

The Jefferson County Democratic Committee encourages all Jefferson County voters to
support Dorena Kimball in the upcoming election for Jefferson County Treasurer. Dorena has
been Deputy Treasurer of Jefferson County for 10 years and has 30 years of accounting
experience. Mrs. Kimball has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and an MBA from Clarkson
University. Dorena’s background and experience make her the only qualified candidate in
the election for Treasurer.

The position of Treasurer is an apolitical position. It’s not a matter of whether a candidate
has an “R” or a “D” after their name on the ballot. It is imperative that the person in that
position has a background in accounting and finance to manage the tens of millions of
dollars that Jefferson County receives annually.
Jefferson County Republicans have nominated Brian Peck as their candidate for Treasurer.
Mr. Peck has been active in the community but has no accounting background or experience
to enable him to competently assume the role of Treasurer.
Jefferson County Republicans and Mr. Peck have done very little campaigning because they
would have to justify the qualifications for their candidate, of which he has none.
Republicans are relying on their advantage in registered voters and hope that voters do not
look to see what qualifications each candidate has before going into the voting booth. The
JCDC feels that Jefferson County voters are smarter than that and will choose the qualified
candidate for Treasurer.
Dorena Kimball has capably served Jefferson County as Deputy Treasurer for 10 years, and
can step in and seamlessly assume the role of Treasurer on Jan. 1, 2024, when current
Treasurer Karen Christie retires.
The JCDC encourages a vote for Dorena Kimball for Jefferson County Treasurer. Early voting
starts October 28th and runs through November 5th, with Election Day on November 7th.
