Tell It To The World:
Past, Present & Future Loud Cry. Sunday Law In First & Last
Generations. Power In Christ’s Resurrection & Intercession.
Final Warning: Righteousness By Faith

1. We printed in full in the July SENTINEL (1888) both the Sunday Bill, and the proposed constitutional amendment
introduced by Senator Blair. We oppose them both because they are both antichristian, subversive of liberty, savoring of
tyranny, and directly in the line of the establishment of a religious despotism. {November 1888 ATJ, AMS 87.3}

2. This land has been the home of the oppressed, the witness for liberty of conscience, and the great center of
scriptural light. God has sent messengers [A. T. JONES AND OTHERS.] who have studied their Bibles to find what is truth,
and studied the movements of those who are acting their part in the fulfilling prophecy in bringing about the religious
amendment which is making void the law of God and thus giving ascendancy to the man of sin. And shall no voice be
raised of direct warning to arouse the churches to their danger? Shall we let things drift, and let Satan have the victory
without a protest? God forbid. . . . {3SM 386.3}

3. “We see that efforts are being made to restrict our religious liberties. The Sunday question is now assuming
large proportions. An amendment to our Constitution is being urged in Congress, and when it is obtained, oppression must
follow. I want to ask, Are you awake to this matter? and do you realize that the night cometh, when no man can work? Have
you had that intensity of zeal, and that piety and devotion, which will enable you to stand when oppression is brought upon
you? {RH, December 18, 1888 par. 12}

4. And now this nation,--the greatest nation of earth,--under whose government we are blessed with every religious
and temporal advantage; which has been the recipient of unrivaled mercies; which Providence has watched over and
shielded; by which the standard of liberty and religious freedom has been lifted,--will it follow the course of the papacy, and
make void God's law? And shall we sit with folded hands, and do nothing in this crisis? Shall we let this Religious
Amendment movement come in, and shut us away from our privileges and rights, because we keep the commandments of
God? God help us to arouse from the stupor that has hung over us for years! There are more souls to be saved, and a far
greater work to be done in warning our world, than has yet been accomplished. {RH, December 18, 1888 par. 14}

5. I have been much burdened in regard to movements that are now in progress for the enforcement of Sunday
observance. It has been shown to me that Satan has been working earnestly to carry out his designs to restrict religious
liberty. Plans of serious import to the people of God are advancing in an underhand manner among the clergymen of
various denominations, and the object of this secret maneuvering is to win popular favor for the enforcement of Sunday
sacredness. If the people can be led to favor a Sunday law, then the clergy intend to exert their united influence to obtain a
religious amendment to the Constitution, and compel the nation to keep Sunday. {RH, December 24, 1889 par. 1}

6. The time of test is just upon us, for the loud cry of the third angel has already begun… {1888 1073.7}

7. At the transfiguration, Jesus was glorified by His Father. We hear Him say: "Now is the Son of man glorified, and
God is glorified in Him." Thus before His betrayal and crucifixion He was strengthened for His last dreadful sufferings. As
the members of the body of Christ approach the period of their last conflict, "the time of Jacob's trouble," they will grow up
into Christ, and will partake largely of His spirit. As the third message swells to a loud cry, and as great power and glory
attend the closing work, the faithful people of God will partake of that glory. It is the latter rain which revives and
strengthens them to pass through the time of trouble. Their faces will shine with the glory of that light which attends the
third angel. {1T 353.3}

8. A work is to be done in and around San Francisco and Oakland. The adjacent towns are to be worked. Oh, I see so
much the need of our ministers getting the spirit of the loud cry before it is too late to work for the conversion of souls.--
Letter 113, 1902. {Ev 404.4}
9a. In the autumn of 1846 we began to observe the Bible Sabbath, and to teach and defend it…But the Lord gave me a view of
the heavenly sanctuary. The temple of God was opened in heaven, and I was shown the ark of God covered with the mercy seat…
Jesus raised the cover of the ark, and I beheld the tables of stone on which the Ten Commandments were written. I was amazed
as I saw the fourth commandment in the very center of the ten precepts, with a soft halo of light encircling it. Said the angel: "It is
the only one of the ten which defines the living God who created the heavens and the earth and all things that are therein. When
the foundations of the earth were laid, then was laid the foundation of the Sabbath also." {1T 75.4}
9b. When we began to present the light on the Sabbath question [autumn 1846], we had no clearly defined idea of the third
angel's message of Revelation 14:9-12. The burden of our testimony as we came before the people was that the great second
advent movement was of God, that the first and second messages had gone forth, and that the third was to be given. We saw that
the third message closed with the words: "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God,
and the faith of Jesus." And we as clearly saw as we now see that these prophetic words suggested a Sabbath reform; but as to
what the worship of the beast mentioned in the message was, or what the image and the mark of the beast were, we had no
defined position. {1T 78.2}
9c. The Lord gave me the following view in 1847, while the brethren were assembled on the Sabbath, at Topsham, Maine.
{EW 32.1} I saw that the holy Sabbath is, and will be, the separating wall between the true Israel of God and unbelievers; and that
the Sabbath is the great question to unite the hearts of God's dear, waiting saints. {EW 33.1} Their countenances were lighted up
with the glory of God; and they shone with the glory, as did the face of Moses when he came down from Sinai. The wicked could
not look on them for the glory. And when the never-ending blessing was pronounced on those who had honored God in keeping
His Sabbath holy, there was a mighty shout of victory over the beast and over his image. {EW 34.1}

10. As the third angel's message swells into a loud cry, great power and glory will attend its proclamation. The faces of God's
people will shine with the light of heaven. The Lord will fit men and women--yes, and children, as He did Samuel--for His work,
making them His messengers. {7T 17.1}

11. The time of test is just upon us, for the loud cry of the third angel has already begun in the revelation of the
righteousness of Christ, the sin-pardoning Redeemer. This is the beginning of the light of the angel whose glory shall fill the
whole earth. For it is the work of every one to whom the message of warning has come, to lift up Jesus… If you would stand
through the time of trouble, you must know Christ, and appropriate the gift of his righteousness, which he imputes to the
repentant sinner. {1888 1073.7}

12. The Lord God of heaven will not send upon the world His judgments for disobedience and transgression until He has
sent His watchmen to give the warning. He will not close up the period of probation until the message shall be more distinctly
proclaimed. The law of God is to be magnified; its claims must be presented in their true, sacred character, that the people may be
brought to decide for or against the truth. Yet the work will be cut short in righteousness. The message of Christ's righteousness
is to sound from one end of the earth to the other to prepare the way of the Lord. This is the glory of God, which closes the work
of the third angel. {6T 19.1}

13. During the loud cry, the church, aided by the providential interpositions of her exalted Lord, will diffuse the knowledge of
salvation so abundantly that light will be communicated to every city and town. The earth will be filled with the knowledge of
salvation. So abundantly will the renewing Spirit of God have crowned with success the intensely active agencies, that the light of
present truth will be seen flashing everywhere. {Ev 694.1}

14. We are to receive the Holy Ghost. We have had an idea that this gift of God was not for such as we are, that the gift of the
Holy Spirit was too sacred, too holy for us; but the Holy Spirit is the Comforter that Christ promised to His disciples to bring all
things to their remembrance, whatsoever He had said unto them. Then let us cease to look to ourselves, but look to Him from
whom all virtue comes. No one can make himself better, but we are to come to Jesus as we are, earnestly desiring to be cleansed
from every spot and stain of sin, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. We are not to doubt His mercy, and say, "I do not know
whether I shall be saved or not." By living faith we must lay hold of His promise, for He has said, "Though your sins be as scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." We are to be witnesses for Christ,
reflecting upon others the light which the Lord permits to shine upon us. We are to be as faithful soldiers marching under the
bloodstained banner of Prince Emmanuel.— {YRP 296.3}

15. Will you not, without delay, place yourself in right relation to God? Will you not say, "I will give my will to Jesus, and I will
do it now," and from this moment be wholly on the Lord's side? Disregard custom, and the strong clamoring of appetite and
passion. Give Satan no chance to say, "You are a wretched hypocrite." Close the door, so that Satan will not thus accuse and
dishearten you. Say, "I will believe, I do believe that God is my helper," and you will find that you are triumphant in God. By
steadfastly keeping the will on the Lord's side, every emotion will be brought into captivity to the will of Jesus. You will then find
your feet on solid rock. It will take, at times, every particle of will-power that you possess, but it is God that is working for you,
and you will come forth from the molding process a vessel unto honor. {MYP 153.1}
