Devar pooje padhati in my own words.

1. Start with the shloka Apavitro Pavitra………..


2. Do Sandhya vandane
3. Take two Manis (Paat) – one big (taller than the other) & the other small one and place them one behind the
other.
4. Prepare Swadodaka… Take water in a small vessel, add tulasi dala to it and stir the water using a tulasi kashta
and then add the following in Q.S. edible Camphor & Saffron.
5. Wear Tulsi Maala, prepare Gandha and Akshanti.
6. Follow the steps as mentioned in the file and chant the relevant shlokas.
a. Take the devara petige and keep just 1 shaligram in a tatti.
b. Pour water over the shaligrama with Shankha chanting the relevant mantra.
c. The collected water is to be discarded. Wipe the shaligram with the specific cloth & keep it in the main
tatti.
d. In same tatti arrange the following, Rest of the shaligrmas, Chakra (min 2), Gopal Krishna & Vishnu pada.
e. In 2nd Tatti keep Laxmi Vigraha (Srikaankita)
f. In the 3rd Tatti keep Hanuman Devaru idol
g. In the 4th one keep the idols of Garuda & Shesha
h. In the 5th one keep yati galu.
7. Chant either of the 3 --- Ambharni sukta (Shortest)/ Sri Sukta / Purusha Sukta.
8. Now perform abhisheka with water in Shankha to Shaligrama in 1st Tatti only. ---- This abhisheka water is
Nirmalya teertha and should be kept aside.
9. Now Keep the Shankha in 2nd tatti and do abhishka with water in a spoon (Teertha sount) to Laxmi vigraha &
Shankha. Add 2 spoons of nirmalya teertha to this tatti.
10. Then do the abhisheka separately with same process including Nirmalya teertha each for Hanuman Devaru (A),
then Garuda + Shesha and lastly Yati galu.
11. The abhisheka water from 3rd Tatti (A) needs to be kept in a fresh thali which is the prana Devaru teertha.
12. Rest all other teerthas to be kept aside.
13. Prepare a teerthad tatti and keep 3 thalis in it. Give nirmalya teertha to this tatti only – 3 times. Transfer the
Pranadevara teertha in one of the thalis.
14. Now give nirmalya teertha to all elders and then have it for yourself followed by youngsters. ---- This teerta has
to be consumed thrice and then followed by prokshana unlike the main teertha.
15. Do Mantapa pooja and chant the relevant shlokas
16. Do Kalasha pooja and chant the relevant shlokas --- For Kalasha Pooja make 2 kalasha sthapana at one side and
then add, Gandha, akshata, tulasi leaf & flower in the kalasha. This becomes the main kalasha now.
17. Do pancha kalasha sthapana with the below arrangement asa

18. Pour little water in each kalasha and then add 1 tulasi dala in each kalasha and then pour 1 spoon water in each
kalash chanting the releavant shalokas.
19. Do Shankha Pooja ---
a. Keep shankha in Laxmi vigraha tatti and then add tulasi leaf and then chanting the relevant shloka add
water twice from the main kalasha.
b. This water from the shankha do prokshana.
20. Main Teertha--- Arrange the main tatti (Devaru tatti) with Shaligrama, 2 chakrankitas, Gopal Krishna & Vishnu
Pada.
a. Shankha Bhramana:---- Apply Arshana, Kukuma and gandha to the shankha . Then take water from the
main kalasha in the shankha and with this water along with Shankha do aarati to the Devaru. This
water from Shankha is then to be kept in the 3rd vessel of teerthad tatti and should be used for
Prokshane.
b. Chanting Mantra for each Kalasha (Pancha kalasha) one by one pour water through Shankha on the idols
in the main tatti.
c. Pour Swadodaka on the idols in this tatti.
d. Chant Purusha Sukta and simultaneously add water from the main sthapita kalasha.
e. Keep this as main teertha (Devaru Teertha) in a separate thali.
f. Wipe all the idols and keep it in this main tatti.
21. In the main tatti (Devaru tatti) offer tulasi dala 3 times (1 each for Vastra, Yadnyopavita & suvarna)
22. Apply Gandha + Akshanti to only one Shaligrama
23. Offer flower (Pushparpana) to Devaru in tatti.
24. Then make tulasi archana to Devaru by chanting Vishnu Sahasranamavali.
25. Offer Dhoop aarati to Devaru in tatti.
26. Light up the two nilanjanas using ghee.
27. Do mangalaarti with 3 battis to Devaru.
28. Make a mandala, keep naividya along with water. Offer tulasi dala and then chant Dwadashi stotra and do the
naivaidyam.
29. Chant all the relevant mantras as mentioned in the file.
30. Again do mangalaarti with 5 battis to Devaru.
31. Apply Gandha, Akshanti to Hanuman Devaru and then offer tulasi and flower and chant Vayu stuti.
32. Similarly do the same steps for Garuda, Shesha and Yati galu by chanting relevant shlokas.
33. Now offer Devara teertha to Naivaidya followed by Shankha and Laxmi Vigraha, Hanuman Devaru, Garuda,
shesha and yati galu.
34. Now do the final mangalaarti with 8 battis (3 + 5) to all God together. This Mangalaarti can be taken by all once
done.
35. Chant Mantra pushpaanjali and then Devaru Bhujangasodu.
36. Give teertha to Teerthad tatti 3 times and then give it to elders, yourself and youngsters.
