Craig has ‘mashed’ together two Disney songs, both by Phil Collins, in a
way that has never been done before. ’You’ll Be in My Heart’ from Tarzan™
(1999) begins quietly to give it room to grow into the chorus in bar 21.
Long notes in this chorus, please, especially at the end on the word
‘always’! ’On My Way’ from Brother Bear (2004) has lots of syncopation to
enjoy, and getting those rhythms right will really help the lyrics translate
to our audience. When the two songs come together they are pitched
higher than before, particularly the first song. I’ll split the choir left and
right for this moment, and be aware that both songs have a special
ending, so please teach these to each of your singers.
