1. With reference to your ONLINE' registration and subsequent receipt of your Registration slip we have pleasure in inviting you for a written test at 10.00 a.m. on 31.07.2011. Please go through the instructions and comply with the requirements.

2. The Test will start on time and you should report at the centre half an hour before the commencement of Test. No candidate will be admitted to the Test beyond 15 minutes after the Test has started. Further instructions shall be given at the Test Centre. 3. The photograph on your Admit Card is required to be attested by a Gazetted Officer and present the Admit Card at the time of examination. You will not be permitted to appear for the Test if you do not produce the Admit Card at the Test Centre. The Admit Card should be printed on full A4 size paper only. 4. We will supply the Question Booklet along with OMR answer sheets at the Test Centre. Link for Sample questions for the Test and general instructions are given on home page. 5. Please make sure you get familiar with the location of your Test centre well in advance before the Test date to avoid last minute hassles. No request for change of venue/ centre will be entertained under any circumstances. 6. You may please note that the validity of this Admit Card is subject to your fulfilling eligibility criteria outlined in our Advertisement No. NH/Rectt./01/2011 in the Employment News & our website. Hence, those candidates who do not meet the specifications advertised are advised not to appear for the Test as their OMR sheet will not be evaluated. 7. Candidates will be required to occupy their seats bearing their Roll No. only. 8. Please check before you occupy your seat at the Test Venue that you have Admit Card with you. 9. The Admit Card must be retained by you for entering the Examination Hall. It should be signed in the presence of the invigilator and handed over to him after the Test. 10. At the time of the Written Test, please make sure that the invigilator signs your Admit Card in the space provided. Please note that your Answer Sheet will be treated as invalid unless the Admit Card, bearing the invigilators signature and your signature, is returned as directed. 11. Smoking/chewing of tobacco is not allowed in the examination premises 12. Candidates should not cause any damage to the property at the Test Venue. 13. Those who have applied for more than one Post/ Discipline will receive more than one Admit Card/ Roll No. Such candidates are advised to write only one Roll No. for the Post/ Discipline for which they wish to appear. Such candidates will be considered only for one Post/ Discipline. 14. Please hand over your Admit Card, Question Booklet and filled OMR answer sheet to the invigilator before you leave the examination hall failing which your result will be cancelled and suitable action will be taken against you. 15. There will be no separate communication to any candidate regarding written Test result. Only short-listed candidates will be
called for the interview.

16. You will not be paid any TA/DA for appearing in the Written Test. However, if you are a outstation SC/ST candidate you will be entitled to reimbursement of single 2nd class return rail or ordinary bus fare by the shortest route provided the distance travelled is not less than 30 km. The candidate will be required to fill up the proforma which will be given alongwith Admit card and submit proof for travel undertaken, along with the attested/ photocopy of your caste certificate issued by the competent authority. The same must be handed over to the Invigilator at the Centre along with the Admit Card. The payment will be sent subsequently by cheque at your postal address

NHPC wishes you all the best. "Familiarize Yourself with Pattern of Written Test" INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO ANSWER IN THE WRITTEN TEST 1.

The following are some instructions regarding the written Test :


a) MOST IMPORTANT: DO NOT BRING MOBILE PHONES/SCANNING DEVICES/ANY ELECTRONIC GADGET TO THE EXAMINATION CENTRE; PLEASE NOTE THAT, NO ARRANGEMENTS FOR STORING THESE WILL BE MADE AT THE EXAM CENTRE AS THESE ITEMS ARE BANNED INSIDE THE CENTRE.

b)

Candidates are not allowed to carry any papers, notes, books, log tables, calculators,pager etc. in the examination hall. Any candidate found using or in possession of such unauthorized material or indulging in copying or adopting unfair means to be summarily disqualified.
Strictly follow the Instructions given on the question booklet or by Centre Supervisor/Room Invigilator. You must use Black/Blue Ball Point Pen for the written Test.

After finishing the examination, handover Admit card,complete question booklet and OMR answer sheet to room invigilator, DO NOT carry the question booklet or any part thereof outside the examination room. Doing so is a punishable offence.
While in the Examination Hall, you must observe complete silence. Consultation with fellow candidates or any attempt to adopt unfair means will result in immediate expulsion from the Examination Hall

The written Test will be of 3 hours duration and will be in three parts i.e. Part -I - General Awareness, Part -II Reasoning and Part -III Concerned Discipline. Part -I will be of 30 questions. Part -II will contain 30 questions and Part -III will contain 140 questions.
PART-I GENERAL AWARENESS This part shall consist of 30 questions on General Intelligence, General Awareness. PART-II REASONING This part shall consist of 30 questions on Numerical Aptitude and Reasoning. PART-III CONCERNED DISCIPLINE This part shall consist of 140 questions specific to your discipline as may be applicable. In the case of TO (Company Secretary), Asstt. Hindi Officer, Hindi Translator & Stenographers there will be part of multiple choice objective type question and descriptive question. Use ball point pen only. SAMPLE QUESTIONS

The sample questions are enclosed herewith which will familiarize you with the type of questions asked in the Test. How to answer objective type Question . You are to choose the correct/best response and mark your response with Black/Blue Ball Point Pen in the OMR Answer Sheet only and not in the question booklet. No change/cutting/over writing in the answers are allowed in the OMR Answer Sheets.Each question number is followed by 4 OVALS marked as (1) (2) (3) and (4). You will have to indicate your answer by completely darkening the appropriate Oval by blue or black Ball Point pen only in such a way that the number inside the OVAL is not visible. For example, for a particular question, if you find that out of four given answers the one marked (3) is correct answer, then on the Answer Sheet against that particular question number, you will have to indicate your answer by completely darkening the correct Oval as follows :

Mark your answer by darkening only one oval as shown in the example below. Multiple answers to any question will be treated as wrong answer.

DO NOT mark any stray marks anywhere on the OMR answer sheet. DO NOT fold or wrinkle the OMR answer sheet. Rough work MUST NOT be done on the answer sheet. Use your question booklet for this purpose.
