Introduction:

I can access Task Manager to see what programs are active on my computer's OS. The

Task Manager can be viewed in numerous ways. However, you can speed things up by

pressing CTRL + Alt + Delete or CTRL + Alt + Escape on the keyboard. By using the task

manager, we can observe what applications are currently active on the system and how busy

the memory, CPU, HDD, and other components are (DOMARS & Kellylorebaker, 2022).

Here is a screenshot of my system's task manager:

We may order the processes by clicking on the CPU column to sort them down.

The first ten processes in my Windows system, sorted by CPU usage in descending order,

are:

1. Google Chrome: This is the web browser that I am using to write this assignment. It is a

popular web browser that is known for its speed and features.

2. Microsoft Word: This is a word processing program that is part of the Microsoft Office

suite. It is a popular word-processing program that is used for creating and editing

documents.
3

3. Task Manager: This is a system utility that allows you to view and manage running

processes. It is a useful tool for troubleshooting performance problems and identifying

and ending unnecessary processes (DOMARS & Kellylorebaker, 2022).

4. Windows Explorer: This is the file explorer that is built into Windows. It allows you to

browse and manage files and folders on your computer (Realflight, nd).

5. Acrobat Update Service (32 bit): This service is responsible for checking for and

installing updates for Adobe Acrobat products.

6. Adobe IPC Broker (32 bit): This process is responsible for facilitating communication

between different Adobe Acrobat products.

7. Antimalware Service Executable: This process is responsible for running Windows

Defender scans and other antimalware tasks. It is an important process for keeping your

computer safe from malware (Microsoft Corporation, 2023).

8. Application Frame Host: This process is responsible for drawing the borders and other

chrome around windows. It is a system process that is essential for the proper operation

of Windows (Microsoft Corporation, 2023).

9. CCXProcess (32 bit): This process is responsible for managing Adobe Creative Cloud

features. It is a necessary process for using Adobe Creative Cloud products (DOMARS &

Kellylorebaker, 2022).

10. COM Surrogate: This process is used to launch and run COM objects. It is a system

process that is essential for the proper operation of Windows.

Improving System Performance:

4

You can improve the performance of your Windows system by disabling unnecessary

processes. This can be done using the Task Manager. To open the Task Manager, press

Ctrl+Shift+Esc. Then, click on the Processes tab. To disable a process, right-click on it and

select End task (Microsoft Corporation, 2023).

However, it is important to be careful when disabling processes. You should only disable

processes that you are sure are not necessary. Disabling essential processes can cause your

system to become unstable or crash.

Some of the processes in the list above, such as the Antimalware Service Executable and

the Application Frame Host, are essential processes and should not be disabled. However,

some of the other processes, such as the Acrobat Update Service (32 bit) and the Adobe IPC

Broker (32 bit), may be unnecessary if you do not use Adobe Creative Cloud products

(Microsoft Corporation, 2023).

You can also improve system performance by keeping your system up to date with the

latest security patches and updates. Microsoft regularly releases updates that include

performance improvements and security fixes (Microsoft Corporation, 2023).

Conclusion:

By disabling unnecessary processes and keeping your system up to date, you can improve

the performance of your Windows system.
