Bemidbar 31:21-24
Eleazar the priest said to the men of war that had gone to battle: This is the legal instruction that
the Lord has commanded to Moses. However, the gold, and the silver, the bronze, the iron, the
tin, and the lead, anything that can withstand fire, you are to pass through fire, then it will be
pure; however, it shall be purified with the water of sprinkling. And everything that cannot
withstand fire, you are to pass through water. You are to wash your clothes on the seventh day,
and then you will be purified; afterward, you may come back into the camp.

we have two axes of doubt, the Sages did not require one to give it to a tavern keeper to taste.

them. Note: Some are strict and say that even immersion in boiling water cannot permit glass
