SARAH Ferguson said she is
“shocked and saddened” after
her former assistant was mur-
dered in the US.
Jenean Chapman (46) was
found dead by police at her
apartment in Dallas, Texas, on
Monday.
She was the Duchess of York’s
personal assistant for four
years between 2001 and 2005.
Fergie wrote on Instagram:
“I am shocked and saddened
to learn that Jenean Chapman,
who worked with me as my
personal assistant many years
ago, has been murdered in
Dallas aged just 46. A suspect is
in custody.
“Jenean was loyal, hardwork-
ing, beautiful and fun and my
heart breaks for her family and

friends. I heard from her just a
couple of months ago and she
seemed so happy. Her family is
raising money to transport her
body back to New York City and
pay for legal and funeral costs.
“I will be making a donation
and supporting the family in

Jenean began working with
Fergie as her first job after
graduating from university in
New York.
Her family said she started a
job in Dallas five months ago.
James Patrick (48) has been
arrested on suspicion of her
murder. He remains in custody.
Pedestrian dies
in road crash
A MALE pedestrian has died af-
ter a road accident in Co Tyrone.
Police were alerted to a sin-
gle-vehicle collision involving
a van near Pomeroy on Friday
night. Officers initially received
a report concerned for the
safety of a man walking on the
Pomeroy Road in the direction
of Cookstown.
As officers were en-route,
a second report was received
that a man on the same stretch
of road had been involved in
an accident. Despite providing
first aid at the scene, he was
pronounced dead. The van
driver was taken to hospital for
non-life threatening injuries.
