Application range: This standard regulates that the application of this faucet shall be used to supplying of water and hot water for bathing of which usable pressure is below 0.74 MPa. Remark: 1. The pressure mentioned in this standard means pressure of stagnant water. 2, Faucet for hot water generated by solar heat is not included 2. Quoted standard: The standard shown in appendix 1 by quotation composes some parts of regulation in this standard and these standards have quoted latest tandards. 3. Definition: The definition of words in this standard shall be followed to the below. a) Pole hung angle valve: This valve is installed mainly at middle part of indoor water supplying pipe and change flow of fluid as angle. ) Coupling connection faucet: This valve is installed mainly at wall and has structure to connect faucet to cock easily. ©) Chemical faucet: This is mainly used to laboratory and has structure for connection of hose easily 4) Automatic shut faucet: This faucet has function to be closed automatically and stop the flow of water at once or a certain time is passed when lever or handle is not touched, ) Cool&hot water combined faucetr: Water which is mixed with cool and hot water is running by handling of lever and handle. f) Reclamation type faucet : This faucet has structure of which function part of main body is hidden in wall 9) Name diameter: Diameter of adherence screw in faucet to be connected to water supply pipe which is for indication of faucet dimension, h) Device for prevention of counterflow: Automatic device for prevention of counterflow which is generated when primary pressure is lower than secondary pressure, 1) Check valve: Valve for operation of valve disc which prevents counterflow comes from secondary pressure of fluid, 1) Cool water : 4-25 C of water for testing, k) Hot water: 55-80 C of water for testing, Normal temperature: 5 -35 C of water. m) Faucet for public use: Faucet which is designed to be installed at washbow! in public toilet,1B 2331: 2003, library, sales facility, resort facility, exibition facility, and transportation facility. 1) Temporal stil water: Stop running water temporarily when hot and cool mixed water is running from hot and cool water combination available faucet. ‘) Dropping type disc: Disc is adhered vertically which is not fixed at faucet and it is classified as normal disc and dropping type disc. Background of enactment of regulation. This regulation has been enacted in 2nd.July.1963, 2. Background of this regulation.(2003) This regulation has been amended and composed of the opinions which has been suggested by corporations in factory inspection for KS Approval judgement ‘and regular judgement in accordance with Industry standardization act of 2003 and also composed ‘of recommendati- ons what Inspector surveyed suggestions of corporations and collected some of them and recommended what they synthesized to Agency for standard and Technology. And amendment has been prepared to prevent misunderstanding of customers and offer customers more chance to make correct decision over products what they want to buy with marks of origin and manufacturers which are written in English and Korean. And This amendment have reflected opinions of committees and organizations and corporations related to Approval processing. For this amendments,Opinions of corporations related approval processing has been reflected in 10. June. 2003. The meeting composed of corporations related to Approval processing ,committee and organizations has been held for examination of opinions in 13.Aug.2003. And the drafting for enactment has been noticed by the law of 2003-1106(200303.09) Agency for Technology and Standards. But during this period, Organization Corporation and Committee have suggested opinions for re-amendment and supplement. So Second meeting has been held for examination of opinions in 28. Nov. 2003, and this amendments has been completed by the results of examinations of opinions. Among contents which were examined in second meeting,new application of lead elution test has been determined to be given grace period for 6 months due to shortage of local laboratory institutions and necessary of preparation of approval related corporations. But some corporation have suggested opinion that the application of body thickness dimension for improvement of anti-pressure quality can obstruct R&D of advanced material and improvement of inner structure of faucet can be enough for improvement of anti-pressure quality. Especially,the fact that control over thickness is difficult in grinding processing after casting has been exposed by corporations so this amendments has been scheduled to be examined again in 2004. The articles in new amendments about marking of manufacturer and origin on body of faucet has been revised to mark origin and manufacturer on body or handle of faucet in advance by complains of corporations that cost can be increased by new investments for new facies to mark origin and manufacturer on body of faucet. The drafts for amendment has been prepared by Agency of Technology and Standard and it has been revised in 35B 2331 : 2003, Dec.2003 through examination of machine element dept. 3. Main revisions of this amendment: The main revisions are the below. a) 3. Definition dy‘at once or after a certain times have been passed’ has been revised in definition of automatic shut type faucet b) KS D 6001 and KS D 6002 has been abolished in 5.Table for Material Table. Features of ation with KS D 6024 and KS M has been abolished and KS M ISO 2580 1 material by unit has been reacted and these has been arranged. And remark which prohibit usage of KS D 2351 material(Zinc metal) at water contacting part of faucet has been newly established. ©) 8.2 table for function of running water,Table 4 function of running water has been subdivided in ‘accordance with kinds by regulation for water saving facility laws for water and pursuit increase of water saving function and confusion of manufacturers has been removed by conformity of running water quantity, 4) 8.8 function of lead elution has been established newly and testing method has been suggested that use 4% of nitric acid as leaching solution and examine lead elution quantity after 30 minutes of elution in 60 C and the 0.05mgil has been limited as standard of drinkable water. e) 11.1 mark of body has been amended as marking on handle or body and mark of origin and manufacturer has been revised to be written in English or Korean. ) The mark of origin and manufacturer on 11.2 packing marking has been revised to be written in English or Korean and the contact poini(TelAddress)of manufacturer shall be marked on Packing for preparation of law of product liability insurance.(PL) 9) Quality improvements has been possible by increase of open/close operation from 100 thousand to 200 thousand for durability function and distrust over over low quality of products has been isolated by establishments of material inspection.
